this means a lot to him => good for him.. I still think that the homerun derby is the most boring event in baseball (not for the guys at the ballpark but on tv)

I remember he always said he wouldn't go unless he was in the game, which he only was once. I believe.

Not only does Frazier remind me of Eric Davis in certain ways, now he gets to go to HR derby like Davis did. Let's hope the results are the same.

He'll be the first player since Vlad who can't "mess up his swing" by participating in a HR Derby. :D

the way he is hitting this year I doubt he needs to "fix" it.. he has sometimes ugly swings, but as long as he gets the results I´m fine with it... the moment he gets more money from the organisation, fans will think differently though

Put 5 bucks on Todd at 10-1 odds. While he probably won't win...10-1 seems like a cheap price.

Frazier hasn't had cheap homeruns this year.

When you compare the average length of his HR's and longest HR with those who are also in the HR contest, Frazier ranks in the upper third.

He's a Bomber.

I like his chances.

Next years format should be as follows.

1. 3 players from each league.
2. Play 9 innings with 3 outs each inning.
3. All 3 players from each league hit 3 innings.
4. The team that wins the 9 inning game goes on to individual championship.
5. Winning team members get 10 swings, winners has most HR's after 10 swings. If tied, 3 swing swing off until winner is decided.

This would be a winner I think!

fwiw, I came up with an idea involving round-robin, home and home derbies between divisional teams before regular season, pre-allstar games, with the three divisional champions plus a wild card (highest hr total for non-winner or defending champion or some such thing) going to the derby. The derby itself would be three outs per batter. That way it won't last until midnight.
