Whatever gets you through the night. I had some hopes for this season so watching to see if we can beat out the Cubs and waiting for the Orioles to play the Tigers is not exactly how i want to spend September and October.

Sorry but after watching Hoover hang a curve to Drew Stubbs (Drew Stubbs! Now hitting 70 points higher than Jay!) and watching Parra get beat on an 0-2 pitch, waxing philosophical about Field of Dreams is not really my cup of tea right now.

You know its all Votto and Phillips fault.. Cant wait for that excuse to come out..Walt is still asleep for the winterI don't think Joey and Brandon have much to do with this. It has to do more with management, personnel, and philosophy. For several years, the roster is flawed.
We continue to give multi-year contracts to not so great players, and that doesn't include Votto, Bruce, Homer, and Phillips. We give two year contracts to chumps. The Reds value players long after their usefulness, if they had any. Hannahan, Ondrusek, Schumaker, and others just shouldn't be here. Parra, Hoover, Lecure, Heisey, and a couple of others need to be replaced. To give the devil his due, Dusty was able to mix and match the players he had to win. It's tough for a rookie manager to do that. He just doesn't have enough experience. The biggest surprise is that Price doesn't handle the bullpen as well as he should. Tonight in the first game, my understanding is that he had no one warming up when Chapman was over his head. Weather it was Chappy's back or the high altitude, it was obvious he had nothing and yet no one was throwing. Give Brox another inning or whatever, that was what separates Dusty from Bryan. Price is smart, but not so baseball smart. He learned from Dusty, but the execution is just not there. Tonight, with Chapman panting and not himself, it was time to make a change, but there was no one to change to. the bullpen had to gt ready in a hurry and it didn't happen. When Sam was just not there,m two runs scored before any action. Hoover comes in and does what Hoover has done all season. Why do you not recognize that? Why do you continue to believe that Hoover is a good pitcher? He is not. In the second game, you just sit and wait for the runs to score and don't even make a change. That's incompetence. So, I know there will be be posters who think that I am off base, but the results speak for themselves. The inmates are running the asylum at this point. They are all in denial, thinking that playing hard will solve this situation,m but it's not that at all. It has a lot to do with talent and how you use it. Playing players once in awhile without getting a rhythm and playing players who will never get better will never work. Batting failing hitters at the top of the lineup is a Dusty move. It worked for him, but he has the power. The front office has to realize that this roster is simply garbage, but something tells me that it won't change. And that makes me realize that unless there is change from the front office to the dugout to the players on the field, we are heading for the next lost decade.
