I think Negron should get a chance to push Cozart for SS. He might drop to his minor league numbers, but until then, ride his better offense while there is still a chance, slight as it may be, for this season.

I´d argue that it would be better to play negron and cozart over BP, at least for the next few days/weeks. BP wasn´t good offensively since 2013 and with this injury and his very fast return (and very little playing in the minors) I doubt that he can be help this team

but I hope I´m wrong

Pena - Would be a very good bench player if he didn't have to start so many games. If you have Pena and a good hitting outfielder on the bench, you have the beginnings of a very productive bench.

He actually has poor range, or at least doesn't get good jumps on balls. The Cards fans are always very critical of his fielding.

A player always looks like he has decent range when he catches the ball at the end of his range.

Hamilton would have likely caught that standing still.

When did Steve Smith become the Cardinal 3B coach?

Cards were trying to make sure the runner scored, anticipating a play at the plate.

It's an overused play, usually the guy is out for no reason, the runner would have scored anyway, but you see it all the time.

I think that's the first time Robinson has every made contact , or at least it seems that way.

I can remember when Lecure was good. he is so bad these days. He K'ed Cruz, but Cruz has never made contact either.

Signed for next year, I'm quite sure. Reds have to learn that a middle reliever is not a permanent fixture.

I think they assumed there would be a play at the plate, since Hamilton has such a great arm. Credit Lecure for seeing there was no play.

It's a set play, they all do it, if you think there's a play at home, draw the throw to third. Usually turns out to be a mistake, overused play.

Right now, despite the seeming unimportance of this game, I'm kind of annoyed about that last run.

I know Price doesn't have many effective relievers now, but Lecure really had nothing. Now the Cards have momentum in a home game, who knows how it ends. Annoying.
