Took my wife to see her do some standup this last spring. She always claimed that Joan was her hero or 'who she wanted to be when she grew up.'

Brash, bold, rude, outspoken...there are lots of labels one could apply to her over the years, some nice, some not so nice. I for one was a fan. There's too much political correctness in the world and she was the antithesis of that.

RIP you ......well I won't finish the sentence because the board is PC as well...

The parody True Hollywood Story about her was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on tv.

Indeed. My wife is one of them who will miss her. Just a couple days before this happened, invitations went out, to our house and others, for the Pink Ribbon luncheon at the Duke Center in early October and Joan and her daughter were to be the headline speakers. My wife was looking forward to seeing her

I agree with you. At that age, anything can happen. At least this wasn't another plastic surgery for her...
