Lackey had a string of four straight wins -- each with two or fewer earned runs allowed -- snapped against the Brewers on Friday. But he does continue to provide the Cardinals with length, having gone at least six innings in six of seven starts.

Simon got squeezed a bit against Holliday and Adams and now Fat Adams with an RBI double to put the Cards up 1-0.

Now 2-0 after another base hit.

On way home....Marty got excited as he saw we had a good chance at Holliday but said after the run that Phillips double pumped and Cowboy said Bruce didn't get it in as quick as usual.

What did the tv viewers see?

Ball died in the corner on Bruce -- can't fault him for that --- he had no momentum so his throw to BP didn't have much on it though --missed if there was a double pump

Tom Servo

According to Jim Day it went like this

Ump: "One more word and you're gone."

Lackey: "Whatever."

Nice to know Lackey is an 8 year old child lol

Ironman92

Lackey....is a huge baby on the mound. It's really funny how immature he gets. He throws the biggest fits when he believes the manager pulls him too early.

HP Ump overreacts...shocker.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't recall Tom Hallion as being an umpire with an exceptionally short fuse. Lackey, on the other hand, is known to be a hothead. According to Jim Day, Hallion clearly told Lackey to knock it off, and he persisted.

What did Lackey say to the ump to get ejected?

In any event, the Reds should have declined the ejection.

Axl's voice is shot. He hasn't been the same since he split up with Slash and Izzy, and took forever to release the mythical Chinese Democracy album (which was disappointing).

But man, in 1991 they were the kings! :D :rockband:

When Holliday picked up the ball, Pena was not quite a third. It looked like Pena even hesitated for a split second.

But sending Pena even against a slug like Holliday when he's not rounding third when the ball is picked up isn't good baseball with only 1 out.

When my wife and I went to the game on Monday, I commented that this should have been a huge series. The Cardinals for 4 games at GABP on September should have been critical pennant chase games.
