I wonder if Mesoraco is getting the day off only because he was pushed into duty yesterday, and didn't get his normal day off?

Hope it's not a more severe setback for Latos.

John Fay @johnfayman · 48m

Price said Schumaker hasn't been 100 percent all year. "He kept to himself. Never once said he couldn't go." #reds

John Fay @johnfayman · 48m

No timetable on Latos. "Hopefully, it's a one week thing and I can make my next start." The injury is throwing-related #reds

Kelch is terrible....Brayan Pena drills one off the barrel and it gets caught 380 feet away in the RCF alley......calls it as a jam shot multiple times

He did. Hamilton was safe, his hand was in before the tag was applied. But I don't blame Price for not contesting it. It wasn't "clear and convicting" from the angles available.

In the 9-5 win against the Cardinals on Tuesday night, Hoover entered with a 5 run lead, and couldn't hold it, forcing Price to bring Chapman into the game for the save. Because of that, Chapman pitched three days in a row, and couldn't pitch tonight. It's Hoover's fault... again.

It's my upbringing, and remember I'm an old guy. When I was a kid, a thug was someone who liked to fight. I always think of Hurdle teams, with all the hit batsmen, as being that way. Just a generational difference I guess. Dad used to call the "ruffians" in town the thugs because they would fight at the drop of a hat. Anyway, sorry.

Don't be sorry. I don't even know what they are talking about. The word seems appropriate to me, but, again, evidently English has changed. My granddaughter called a gal a ratchet the other day. I was flabbergasted. Why compare a woman to a mechanic's tool?

I hope the Reds come back in 2015 the way the Brewers did this year after an off-2013.

So they can choke like the Braves did back in 2011......which allowed the cards to get into the playoffs?

I would prefer they come back like in 1990 or 1994.

I was referring to attitude. Starting with Clint Hurdle.

I agree with you. Hurdle likes to portray that tough guy thing then acts all perplexed when his hitters are getting retaliated on.

We get it...you don't want the Pirates to back down..... but he just keeps it going and agitating, like Rex Ryan with the Jets.

Giants up early on the Dodgers 3-0

Giants lineup...

1. Pagan
2. Panik
3. Posey
4. Pence

No way that's been done by another team with all "P" batting 1-4 in a lineup

And for extra credit batting 5th? Pablo AKA Panda

Astros did it a bunch with B's. Biggio, Blum, Bagwell, Berkman.

Mutaman, your links refer exactly to what I said - English has changed. When I was a kid gay still meant happy or joyous. By the end of the 70s it no longer meant the same. Same thing has happened with "thug". I am just getting old and not up to the minute on changing meanings of words. This is why older people constantly get in trouble over being "insensitive". It will happen to you someday, too.
