Two 3Bs?..I'll take an educated guess and say Santiago will be playing 2B.
Also, hurray for Yorman.

Three regulars? Might give the Cubs an edge in chasing us. Like to see the kids, but one or two a game is plenty.

Well, they don't really have a left fielder and now that Frazier is over at first, they don't really have a third baseman, so you can't "blame" those slots on Price.

I love the guys, but it's hard to imagine folks hitting worse than Bruce, Cozart and Phillips at this point. So....I can't really "blame" Price for that either.

The only hope for this franchise is that some guys resurrect their careers.

Bases loaded. Simon isn't the Simon of the first half.

Castillo pops up on the first pitch. No score after 1.

26 pitches in the first. Bullpen better get ready.

It's dead here. Later.

Just following on Gameday so I don't know if the zone placement is correct, that being said, do the Reds know that they don't have to swing if the ball is out of the zone? I think only one of the 7 to BHam showed up as being in the strike zone.

You have to wonder if they even know the strike zone.

The same could be said of the umps, however. That might play with a batter's mind.

Wait, I thought Simon wasn't very good anymore?

Our defense allows him to pitch so many innings. If he pitched for the Indians he'd likely not surpass 29 innings all year

"Homing in on" is correct. The Reds need to practice homing in on home plate.

Looks like we're homing in in a shortest game thread of the year.

It looks as if it will take about 25 innings before either on of these teams score. We got plenty of time left.

I just had a vision. Price puts Brayan Pena in to pinch run and he gets thrown out at the plate in the top of the 9th. Smith sends the runner even though the catcher has the ball in his mitt before Pena reaches third. JJ Hoover comes in to pitch the bottom of the ninth and gives up a walk-off home run on his last warmup pitch.

PS These mushrooms are great.

Beat me to it. I think you can okay a couple of the call ups in a game, but benching Phillips, Pena, and the whole outfield was the white flag before the game actually began. The competitor in me won't accept that, but that's just me. One more nail in the coffin of a losing season.

I'm up too late, but I have to say one more thing. Many have expressed the notion that if we lose, we will get a better draft pick. Let me just say this. If the ones who played tonight are any indication of the judgment our scouts have, we need to win every game. I've never seem more incompetence in my life than the prospects, especially when comparing them to Purate, Cardinal, and Cubs prospects. Free agency is the only way to get this club over the hump.
