I imagine he must be close to the end. Suzy Kolber was all choked up and teary eyed on Monday, and Trey Wingo barely got through presenting the video of his acceptance speech for the Jimmy V award on NFL Live yesterday.
I'm no big fan by any stretch, but it's still real sad to see that he's in such bad shape.

I never was a big fan of him either. But I hate to see anybody go in the prime of their life. I hope a miracle happens and he lives out his years. Stu "Is as cool as the other side of the pillow". God bless him.

Scott was a pioneer at ESPN. He did things his way during a time when ESPN was kinda boring I think. His numerous catch phrases are a thing of beauty. He has been a mentor to up and coming anchors like Chris Carter. He was perfect for the time, with the hip hop culture becoming more and more mainstream. Stu, you were awesome, probly my favorite at ESPN. RIP man....booyah!!!

As cool as the other side of the pillow is a staple from my youth. He brought swag and coolness to SportsCenter. I didn't care for his ladder duties with NBA and NFL because I never cared for those casts. But Stu Scott the SportsCenter anchor was one of my favorites.

RIP Stu
I've used the "cooler than the other side of the pillow" line often in real life and he's the first place I ever heard it.

I don't watch Sportscenter much at all anymore but when I did see Stuart Scott on it I knew it would be better than usual. He brought a unique perspective to sports. He brought humor into the sports news that put it into its proper perspective. 49 is way too young to pass away. He will be missed most of all by his family and his leaving of two teen age daughters behind. RIP

Cancer sucks.
I pity the kids of today who missed the glory days of SportsCenter w/ guys like Stu, DP, Mayne, and Olbermann.

This sucks, I always enjoyed Stuart Scott, even if he did sometimes become a caricature of himself with the cliches.
I gotta add Charlie Steiner to your list. I always liked Olbermann and Steiner together.

I always loved the ESPN commercials that had Stu in them. My favorite was the one where he was washing his hands in the restroom and the jockey and his horse both flushed a toilet and walked out behind him. Just thought that was so clever, and very funny.
RIP Stu. Cancer sucks.

I don't know that any "celebrity" death has hit me like Stu's did Sunday. I got to meet him several times over the years here in CH; such a great, great guy he was. He influenced a lot of people, and was a part of many sports fans lives growing up watching him change sportscasting. Stuart Scott. Tar Heel. Booya.
