Not a good year for rock performers born in 1944. The BBC is reporting that Joe Cocker died of an unspecified illness.

A very dynamic rock performer who worked with so many folks back in the day and gave his stamp to some very familiar tunes other folks first recorded.

I was around in the 60's. We never thought Joe would see 1970.....let alone age 70. Good job Joe

Nice comments from Paul McCartney with a considerable hat-tip for his recording of "With a Little Help from my Friends," turning it into a "soul anthem."

Today in We've Come Full Circle: Feelin' Alright always reminds me of the Reds, because of the way Ken Burns used it in the 70s episode of his Baseball documentary series.

I think more than any other song, that's the one that always comes to mind first when I hear his name.
