I'd heard he was in the hospital last week but I'm sorry to see he didn't recover. Thanks for posting this

Where I knew him best was from the old In Search Of shows. He was a great narrator of that series. Most or all of those shows can be found on YouTube. I was never into Star Trek and the many generations that followed. RIP Leonard Nimoy

RIP Spock. He certainly lived up to his own saying. He lived long...and prospered. :(

This one hurts.
Do a search on YouTube for the alternate version of Bruno Mars' Lazy Song and gaze at the glory of Nimoy

As a kid who grew up on re-runs of the original "Star Trek," this one stings a ton.
LLAP Mr. Nimoy.

Not very many celebrity deaths affect me, but this one does. Loved the character Spock, admired the man Leonard Nimoy.
RIP. Live long and prosper.

Shouldn't the title be L.L.A.P. Leonard Nimoy?

It's amazing the lasting cultural impact a show that was only on 2 or 3 seasons.
RIP Leonard Nimoy.

LOVED that show. But you could never find it. Local TV stations would throw it on during a rainout or run a few Sunday afternoons until they could find something else.

I'm not the type who usually gives a second thought to a celebrity's death and I'm not that big of a Star Trek fan, but this news has made me pretty sad.
This cheered me up a little bit:

He has a nice career to voice for many projects I enjoyed. This is probably my favorite. The best animated movie of the 80s in my opinion.

It was a great show and since it was the original, it holds a special place but in hindsight I think "The Next Generation" was the better show. Although I did find it disappointing that they didn't do more with Vulcans in that series.
Paul Allen was a huge Star Trek fan and that's why he named one of his companies Vulcan.
McCoy: He's not really dead. As long as we remember him.
Kirk: It's a far, far better thing I do than I have ever done before. A far better resting place that I go to than I have ever known.
I'm sure McCoy gave him a nice welcome into the after-life ;)

I didn't watch the tv show during its original network run. But my freshman year at Ohio U, it was a regular staple on the one tv set in the Sargent Hall lobby. Came on some West Virginia channel at 4 pm and a bunch of us lazy degenerate hippie college students would gather to watch. This being 1970, we'd get in the proper mood before watching. Was a fan ever since.
RIP Leonard and thanks for the memories.

WOW. You know I never really stopped and thought about it. It felt like it ran forever. But yes, 3 seasons. Of course I only saw the re-run versions being born in '68. Still...kinda stunning.

I find it somewhat amusing how many people link that quote to Star Trek and not A Tale of Two Cities where it's originally from.

I always think of it from the closing scenes of The Dark Knight Rises personally.
