Hey, when you have the chance to acquire future above-average reliever Andrew Miller AND Burke Badenhop for the best hitter in 25+ years, you gotta pull the trigger.

Over the past few years BP has come back from injury very quickly. It's really impaired his hitting. I'd rather BP sit out rather than try to perform when not completely healthy.

He's an older player now, no need to push it. Long season.

Not what I was saying....I was basically just saying I wish he was still in because he wasn't hurt.

I don't want him ever to get hurt because no matter how long he struggles afterwards it because of the injury.

I don't think anyone though Cabrera's career was ending, though the alcohol issues were a concern. Really what I remember is that the general consensus was that it was pathetic the Marlins already had a minuscule payroll following their previous firesale and now were trading off young players like Cabrera and Willis because god forbid you field a team with some exciting young players.

And that's fine, but in the grand scheme of things his contract isn't that bad. I know BP's mouth gets him in trouble and people don't like the contract. But BP plays his arse off when he is on the field.

There was a poster recently that was saying BP was a horrible person because a friend of his, a female, had text messages from BP and it wasn't good. People take that and start crappin on him when he isn't performing at his highest, and just beat it into the ground.
