Well it was fun while it lasted. I know it's Barnhart and Boesch beneath him but I would've kept Cozart in the 8 hole. He seems comfortable so far this season and is hot at the moment. I would have kept it going.

Ok. So Porcello's contract was wrong too. Doesn't excuse Bailey. So far, it's not looking good.

Let's also remember, Leake's numbers are very similar. Leake has a better career ERA, WHIP (albeit by .01), better K/BB, and people are scoffing at the notion for Leake being paid a very healthy contract.

I'm not scoffing, I think Leake is worthy of a nice contract, I just don't think the Reds in their position should be doing it. The Bailey/Leake debate has plenty of other threads dedicated to it.

The biggest thing to me is that people say "Oh, that Bailey contract is awful, nobody would pay him that kind of money". But as prevalent as starting pitching has become, you could bet big market teams like the Angels, Yankees, Blue Jays, Rangers, Mariners, and others would take Homer in their rotation with his contract without much second thought.

I think Cozart has to swing early there. If he falls behind, he has no chance.

Problem IMO was Cozart hitting in that spot. I know he's had a few good games, but this is Wainright.

Hit Boesch sixth. IF they come in with the lefty, then you go to Byrd or even Mesoraco.

The Reds almost never hit for Cozart in key situations.

Wainright against Cozart there, maybe go with more of a hitter. If there's no lefty on the bench, go with Byrd or Mesoraco.
