Over. But not by much. Reds win 2-1.

What's the over/under for run support for Cueto?

1?Last time I gave it 2 and he got 1, so this time I'll say 1 in hopes he gets over.

RedsBrick
04-28-2015, 03:28 PM
I'll say over, but barely. And he gets the win only because he throws 153 pitches, drives in one of the runs and the Reds win in walk-off fashion in the bottom of 10.

Larry Schuler
04-28-2015, 03:41 PM
If this weren't the Brewers, I'd predict a No Decision for Cueto with the Reds losing 3-7 in the 12th inning.

Since it IS the Brewers, I say we win 3-1.

NebraskaRed
04-28-2015, 03:50 PM
Cueto pitches 14 innings of 0-0 baseball until the bottom of the 14th, Marlon Byrd at the plate, a half asleep umpire sees a napkin someone has thrown onto the outfield, thinks it's a baseball, calls it fair, and Byrd runs the bases, scoring the winning run.

Reds win 1-0, Cueto's arm falls off while giving Votto a high five.

One of the nice parts of when I lived in Charlotte, NC for college was that that the Reds were a home team and aired on the Fox Sports affiliate, so I didnt have to miss things like this

As long as Cueto or Chapman is pitching the 9th, I'm good. We need to win this one.

Cueto threw a ton of pitches his last outing. If they feel Chapman needs another day of work then it's not a bad idea to let Johnny call it a night with not many pitches thrown. Can't go wrong, if they beat Cueto or Chapman they'll have earned it.

Hate to break it to you, Thom, but you can get to many more true No. 1 starting pitchers with both hands... and maybe a third.

04-28-2015, 09:14 PM
Three of next five hitters for Brew Crew are lefties, always favor Chappy against lefties. On the other hand, righty Braun is due up and potentially Ramirez.

Another point is that Chapman came in mid-inning last night and it took him awhile to get going. Maybe Price just prefers Aroldis to start the inning clean.

Debatable, not sure Cueto is too happy about it based on TV pictures in dugout.

They have a very real chance to enter May at 12-10 with all but one game coming against the division and significant time without Mesoraco and Bailey and WITH Marquis and a miserable bullpen. I would've taken that Opening Day. Need to use May to beat up on some bad teams (looking at you, ATL, COL, SF) and figure out how to build a bridge to Chapman.

? Not having Chapman in close game after we've blown so many divisional games because of a lousy bullpen? Not having Chapman because a cruising Cueto was pulled after 85 pitches? That's actually a problem that would disgust me.
