I'm really hoping they go with the best player available strategy.
I'll say they don't do that and take DJ Humphries, OT, Florida.

Hopefully BPA all the way.
I am no draft expert, but after seeing what they ran out in the playoff game I do wish they had more depth at WR. I realize they are getting Jones back, but even still. Not sure if that is fixable in the draft or not.

My guess is Ereck Flowers or Shane Ray. I'd be happy with either.
Surprised Lapham hasn't tipped the pick yet!

If the kid doesn't get hurt he would have been a top ten pick according to Kiper. I like the pick with Whitworth getting older and Smith being in the last yr of his contract. Would have loved a wide out though.

Great pass blocker from what I've read. We don't need him right away, but if we picked a cornerstone for our future OL I like the pick. Whit has shown how valuable those guys are.

Plenty of good WR's available on day 2.
I was upset the Panthers didn't select a WR to pair with Benjamin, but then I realized there are so many WR's still available.

Would like to see one of the top remaining WR (Tyler Lockett, Dorial Green-Beckham, Devin Smith), Denzel Perryman, Landon Collins, Jordan Phillips, Eddie Goldman or Randy Gregory.
If we get 2 of those guys today, it's a phenomenal day.
If we get 1, it's decent.
If we get 0, I'm disappointing with this draft so far.

Another tackle. I'm beginning to wonder if Boling might be the starting center this year and they move Fisher to guard.

Maybe we're gonna start tackles at TE and FB and hand the ball to Jeremy Hill every time.

That Dawson pick looks like a good pick to finish the 3rd round

Oh he did. On 1530 Thurs afternoon he said that the Bengals were targeting a LT from Texas AM that would have been a top 10 pick if not for an ACL injury. They got exactly who they targeted, other draft experts rankings be damned. That's how the Bengals operate

If Burfict is healthy I love what we have going on at LB.
Burfict
Maualuga
Rey
Lamur
Hawk
Dawson

Remember who our starting QB is. He needs a running game/protection to excel. Both of those guys, like Whitworth, can play multiple O line positions as well.
I especially like the Paul Dawson pick. If Burfict cannot play, he is the perfect replacement, as the two have very similar skill sets.

Bengals 4th round pick:
Josh Shaw CB USC

The first one...and I'd say the second one, too but I was referring to the first one .

Bengals next 4th round pick:
Marcus Hardison DE ASU
Tony Cloninger

I like the last 2. I do not think they needed to draft 2 T's especially one that has not just the ACL...but recurring back issues.

I'm a fan of the team building inside-out, so give me all the lineman, that's fine.

Bengals took some school pro day workout guy about 2 rounds higher than expected. This is not 1974 where players can hide like John Stallworth did because no one could find the film the Steelers had on him.
You can see the ability but a guy has a good workout is not the reason to overdraft him. Eifert must really not be ready.

Just about every team out there reaches now and then. Some puzzling picks no doubt but I'm not worried about it.

Bengals 4th round pick:
Josh Shaw CB USC
Prior to his senior season, Shaw was suspended by USC after he had lied about how he had suffered injuries to both his ankles. He had originally told the team that he suffered the injuries while jumping from the second story of an apartment building to save his nephew who was drowning in the pool. In reality, he suffered the injuries after jumping from his balcony to avoid the cops who had been called by a neighbor after hearing an argument between him and his girlfriend.

Just noticed Michael Bennett fell all the way to the 180th pick, in the 6th round. I like Uzomah's potential (maybe more than Kroft), but picking Bennett there makes more sense than drafting a 2nd TE, IMO.

was as surprised as about everyone else by taking OT with both first picks, would have had no issue at all with taking one or the other, I think Fisher would have been just fine in the second round, and personally would've liked to see us get Dupree in round one that wound up going one pick later to the Steelers - then again as a UK fan, I may be a tad biased, but Bud has legit pass-rushing skills on a team that sorely needs it.
I was very pleased with the rest of the draft. absolutely LOVE the Dawson and Hardison picks, and quite like Kroft, Shaw and Smith, all three of those are extreme value. even the WVU kid Alford, was a hell of a pick for near the end of the draft for a team with a specific need - rangy return man. The TE from Auburn is the only other questionable pick for me other than the big one, but I'm not gonna gripe much about it, seems like a low-risk, high-reward type move to get him in the 6th, he's got unusual measurables for a TE

Can't believe Bennett fell that far.
