Well Marty and Price were sure talking up Leake on the pre-game interview. Is it an intentional foreshadowing to a contract offer?

Watching the Royals too - kills me to see Reds flailing while a team without appreciably better hitters does this - Detroit shifts on Moustakis - he bunt singles down third line, Hosmer up they shift Eric, he bunt singles down third, Perez then hammers a double. KC 2-0. Why don't Reds do this against the shift? BC they are terrible bunters?

Frazier needs to get going.

Frazier needs a day off. Bet we'll see Negron at 3b tomorrow. Too bad it's not Dejesus we can see at 3b.

1-2-3 eighth innings by Reds RP this year:
4/8 - Jumbo Diaz
4/24 - Jumbo Diaz
4/26 - Tony Cingrani

Every other has had at least 1 runner.

I think we may have to do the same for Marlon. He's gotta be approaching negative infinity and my Calculus is a little rusty.

1 aboard for Devin "Hipster" Mesoraco.

No Thom, they're not. They're playing with 2 and a pinch hitter.

Yeah. You just see a ball roll down into the corner and think, that's 2. Was too busy RZing instead of watching to see where he stopped. :)

What was the deal with the Byrd fly ball in the first? I was golfing but had it on radio and Marty acted like it would leave the state and then all of a sudden said it got caught at the wall. Marty just overreact?

It looked gone. Had to be the wind that kept it in the park.

Literally 3 more feet and Reds win this one.

It was the most I have been fooled on a ball from watching the tv at bat in a long long time. I still sit here and cannot believe it didn't go out.

Had to hit a big gust of wind. That ball was crushed.

Pitcher had already gotten a new ball from the ump and everything.

I thought it was gone for sure. They said it was windy and I'm sure the wind knocked it down. In the end that cost them the game.

I like the quotes from Disco on MLB.com:

"I fell behind a lot of guys and didn't get back in the count," said DeSclafani, who dropped his second straight decision and saw his record fall to 2-2. "I don't remember the last time I walked five guys. I have to do a better job, for sure."

"Obviously, I didn't know if he was swinging first pitch or taking first pitch, so I just tried getting a strike in there," DeSclafani said. "It was too good of a strike.
"It was just a couple of pitches that got away and then probably trying to make too good of a pitch instead of attacking. You obviously have the pitcher right there and you don't want to give in to Young, but looking back at it, I probably should have attacked him a little bit more with my fastball instead of trying to chase something."

"I think I know how to pitch to lefties," said DeSclafani, who is allowing lefties to hit .263 with a .333 on-base percentage; righties are hitting .075 with a .125 OBP. "I was going into the lefties early. I think they kind of saw that and made an adjustment. Right there is where I have to make an adjustment and start throwing fastballs away to make the inner half effective. Obviously, I caught that too late."
