Kershaw at age 27 just surpassed 1500 career K and Felix at 29 just hit 2,000.....how high do you think they'll get to when they call it quits?

I think Kershaw gets to 3489 and King Felix ends up with 3919.

Seeing as how they'll no longer have to be drug tested when they call it quits, they may very well get pretty damn high from time to time. If they're so inclined.

I'd guess 3491 and 3923. You seem over pessimistic. I'm not sure why.

What is interesting (to me) is that these guys have had as good a career as you could have at their ages, they both got started in MLB at an early age . . . they are both top strikeout pitchers who each have a career best season of 248 K's . . . and if they repeat their best season ever it will take Felix 15 years and Kershaw 17 years to break Nolan Ryan's K record (they would need to maintain that career high each year through age 44).

Ryan was a freak of nature. Cy Youngish in his effective longevity.
