Did anybody ever figure out what happened to Lincecum? He went from being so flat out dominant to pretty mediocre awfully darned fast. I don't recall him being injured or anything. Mechanical issues? Mental issues? Hair getting in eyes? Just curious.

Agreed. But the Bruce I remember didn't hit warning track shots. He hit them into the bleachers. He's always struck out a ton, but at least hit the ball far enough when he did connect that the strike outs didn't matter as much.

Bruce with warning track power is rather useless.

Bruce with warning track power is rather useless. That's a good point. Perhaps I should rephrase to "If he replaced the extra strikeouts he has had this year, even for him, with that type of contact I would be happy". I don't want everything hit there, but if I could choose a hit to the warning track or a strikeout, I'd take the contact every time (so long as his power remains for other at bats).

I am amazed that the Reds ownership & management continue to play this guy. When u got announcers calling out that his hip is flying open how or why can't this be fixed - he's not batting his weight and if Price doesn't have the balls to sit him, how can Bruce not have enough love for his team mates to take himself out of line up.

I feel sorry for Bruce. It's probably eating him alive that he can't figure it out. On the other hand, he is making so much money, he will never have to do real work the rest of
his life if he quit tonight. The name of the game is to win baseball games, and he is not helping the Reds achieve that goal. Remember how Rick Ankiel lost it and couldn't throw strikes after he started his pitching career so well. Maybe Bruce has lost it and won't ever find it again. It's time to move on.
