since this is the time of the night for everyone to pick nits over the lineup I'll start it off by saying I'd like to see Votto back batting 2nd and Bruce hitting 8th 9th or 10th....also I get hitting Cozart leadoff with this cast of characters but I'd like to see him in a consistent spot in the order while he's going so well

They only lose or go on losing streaks once they get to 2 games over.

I don't know if it means he's done but it certainly is concerning. I don't know if he's just missing or if he's actually lost some power but it does seem of late even when you think he's got one it barely stays in the ball park.

Boesch with the botch.

The Reds saw their Dominguez error early. Gregg is gone. Marquis is an obvious candidate for the boot. Boesch was the one non-roster guy from Spring that I had hope would be useful. Personally, I'm ready for the Reds to make a move and get him out of there and off the bench. Selsky gets healthy, he'd get his spot. Meanwhile, I'd give Suarez some time in the OF. Since we know he can play IF and seems to be starting to hit, he could be a super-sub (not a utility player like Negron, but a true super-sub like Zobrist, Harrison, etc) with a little OF experience. One multi-position guy who can hit a little would transform the bench from wasteland to fairly strong pretty quickly.

The bullpen got taxed yesterday, I understand why in a 5-0 game with 2 outs you really want Leake at a reasonable pitch count to get that last out.

You know, it would make some sense for a manager to make some changes before the game is a blowout and totally out of reach. Allowing 10 hits in five innings should have been a clue, but no. It's a bad deal for the big crowd to sit back and do nothing. Sorry. Rant over.

At least there's no need to use the bullpen now. Force Leake to throw 100+ to save a couple innings.

I'm guessing that was the plan all along. Leake has been getting outs, but just giving up a bunch of homers. Unless he was just going hitter after hitter without getting guys out, I can't see them burning up the pen with Desclafani going tomorrow.
