Hamilton batting 8th is good.

Pena batting 2nd is unexpected.

Also, the Reds have yet to win a game on a Sunday.

Today we have the "hot hand" batting order.

Line 'em up according to 205 results. So Cozart and Pena 1-2. Bruce and Hamilton 7-8.

I have no idea if it will work out well, but I want to give a "Atta boy" to Bryan Price. Bruce seventh and Billy eighth? Yessir. Hopefully they produce at the bottom of the order, build their confidence back up and eventually move back up in the lineup.

Well done, Price. Well done.

Bruce had a single and a homer last night, Boesch was 0fer and missed a fairly easy catch in centerfield. Pretty easy choice.

Bruce has been bad but I don't think it's time to replace him with some sort of power tool in RF.

Like the change to the lineup today, but I'd be tempted to put Hamilton 9th and the pitcher 8th. If Billy gets on in front of a pitcher there's never gonna be a reason to bunt him over. And at 9th he can be another leadoff hitter that just gets less at bats.

TheBigLebowski

Price is the ultimate one step forward, two steps backward manager. Puts together a good lineup; urinates all over the concept of sabermetrics by sac bunting in the first inning with the No. 2 hitter. (After a four-pitch walk to the leadoff batter no less.)

I would like to see the Reds move on from Bryan Price sooner than later. I don't think he's the anti-Christ or anything, and he hasn't been dealt the best of hands, but he's clearly not the guy to lead the Reds moving forward for years to come. So give him his severance package, install Riggleman as the interim manager, and find the right guy in the offseason.

I was optimistic about Price becoming manager. Maybe part of that was the result of feeling like Dusty had been here long enough and it was time for a change.

Now, though, I just think he's completely in over his head. Maybe he was a good pitching coach, but he's not a good manager. I don't want to say that all of his decisions are wrong, but most are. And more importantly, it seems like his intuition is wrong. He's not a good judge of what will happen, or what someone is capable of doing.
