So, Mesoraco isn't the DH? That makes sense.

Tony Cloninger

If Mez is not going to DH and obviously not catch.....then I don't know what to say.

Put Votto back at 2 and drop Cozart back to 7th at least. The hot Cozart run is probably over. Let us not prolong it and make it any worse.

Something has to be wrong about this lineup. We have no center fielder!

Edit: It also says 'vs Indians' and not '@ Indians' in the bottom-left. Me thinks someone posted this to social media before they were supposed to.

This manager is beyond parody. Carry a hobbled Mesoraco for months because of his bat and start Pena and Stubblegrit as your D"H"s.

What is the Reds' cumulative DH OPS over the last five years?

If Mesoraco isn't hurt (and I mean beyond what we already know) this is managerial malpractice on the part of Bryan Price once again. If he wants to have Pena in the lineup, then catch Pena and DH Mesoraco.

As reflected in my Stats thread for 40 games, Hamilton has the second best UZR defensive rating of any position player in the National League. Only Dee Gordon is higher, by a touch.

By holding onto Leake, the Reds may be allowing his trade value to diminish. The last two appearances were uninspiring. They might indeed make the QO and take the draft choice if this continues.

Hopefully Cueto continues to pitch well. If he's going to be traded, I'd like it to be at his peak performance to bring the best yield.

Reds are getting clobbered. Leake has allowed 10 homers, he cannot succeed with that number. He's a ground ball pitcher and when he gets the ball up he has bad years. It's happened before.

The Reds' pitching has collapsed and the W-L record with it. And without Bailey, it's a very ordinary staff. That injury was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Hopefully somebody in this organization will take charge and provide some different direction. But they are so, so cautious. I don't blame Price, but even if they resort to the routine act of changing managers it would at least show they are paying attention.

Perhaps it was predictable, some national publications predicted it, but it sure is a disappointing situation.

I seem to recall bad stretches or a few bad starts in a row throughout a season, but not many, if any "bad years" for a 4th-5th starter (who's probably got a realistic ceiling of being a decent #3 type). Yeah he's a #2 here though, now, and it's much harder to endure his bad stretches as a result. But I'm not for getting rid of him, just finding better guys to put in front of him, these bad stretches are never fun with him, but he was great until his last two starts...that's why he's not top-of-the-rotation guy, right?
