It would be nice to win a series and have some good feeling about this team. But that may be a bit too much to ask right now. Kendrick is the Jason Marquis of the Rockies staff. I wonder if the Reds can muster up more than two runs off him?

As much as I hate seeing Skip lead off, I'm at least happy that Votto has been in the two spot for a few games in a row.

It's interesting that our three best hitting pitchers have all been in a row with the Hamilton batting 9th experiment. Be interesting to see if it continues. I think Price's reasoning is sound with regards to it.

Cozart got on base 5-% of the time last night. This must be to reward Skip for his walk off hit. Awful move.

Anyone who says that the bench is not really that important in the scheme of things does not seem to realize the injuries this team has.....and BP has been #1 reason to have better options than Skip and Negron to start for him.

I don't care if DeJesus is no starter.....bring him up and plug him in while he is hot, just like Negron was last year and ride out his hot bat up here. In addition no move has been made to help the bench while they have 13 pitchers. This is never explained, never talked about by Thom......who could talk and beat anything into the ground...but this is left alone.

It's probably because Skippy is .345/.367/.621/.987 in 29 ABs against Kendrick.

Schumaker hits better than many folks suggest. He has a history of getting on base. A part-timer deserves some PAs to get up to speed. Last year he was injured, so shouldn't base judgment on that.

Defensively? Different story, I'm not a fan.

Skip shouldn't be leading off. Then again, neither should Cozart or Phililps. I'm waiting for the day when Price finally realizes that Votto (our only reliable on base person) should be the one hitting at the top of the order. That would be an 'experiment' worth watching.

2nd half Leake showed up way too early this year and its going to result in a crap trade for the Reds.

He should have been traded in December, and don't say hindsight is 20/20 because I said it then.

Ultimately, the gopher ball is Leake's nemesis as a pitcher. A ground ball pitcher just can't give up all these homers. When he has a good year, it's usually because Mike keeps the ball in the stadium.

Well, this is team continuity at its best. Keep the same players together forever, bank on better health and turnarounds. Sit still, all will work out.

The result is not only bad baseball, but a boring product.

If you can't get better, Reds, just get different because this is unwatchable.

Sad thing about this is that Price will likely be the scapegoat.

Whatever anyone thinks of Bryan, firing him is a superficial move that avoids the real issue.

Which is that sitting still in sports is almost always moving backwards. Players tend to get older and less healthy after awhile. Holes don't get filled by continuity. Being pro-active is good.

Enjoy the rest of the day, folks, maybe a comeback is on the way.

ya it really is but what did they honestly expect when u put this many strike out heavy streaky power leaning hitters in one lineup. im not one those that just jumped on the jocketty has done a bad job band wagon i been there since people were blaming dusty but at some point its his fault. i mean his drafting has been awful all he has really done is over pay and extend previous gm draft picks. people dont realize it but he didnt draft or bring in to name a few votto, cozart, ceuto, phillips, bruce, mes, bailey, frazier just off the top of my head. Were talking about a guy who got fired in st louis cause he refused to use numbers and was terrible at developing and drafting players and was only able to put a good system/team together when the owner was willing to give him tons of money to extend players. Sound familiar? i dont know i hate to be a complainer but its time to quit sitting around hoping for the best this team needs to be rebuilt and we need to shed salary. Im tired of jock signing over the hill veterans instead of giving young guys a shot im tired of how bad he is at handling injuries im tired of him hiding behind the current coach im tired of it all. Maybe im over reacting cause im a die hard and this season is frustrating but i dont think i am. I think the problem really is jocketty
