But the Reds just are brutal at getting that big hit. Wow.

I'll give him bad luck on that, but of course ideally he would elevate it for the fly ball. But I can't knock him for a liner to short.

But look at these numbers. The Reds have 64 hits with men in scoring position. Lowest in the league. Next lowest is the Brewers with 85. League average is 100.

I'm sure the Reds have fewer opportunities, but that's not exactly a feather in their cap.

I attribute this to low BA hitters who just don't get many base hits. But those particular splits are just brutal.

It's still just May though. If the Reds finish well below league average with RISP average/hits for the year, it's something to take note of, but right now it's basically just a small sample size.

I think Iglesias is going to take awhile until he is truly stretched out as a starter. He works hard with every pitch, not an easy, fluid delivery.

Is that not a valid point though? I would've yanked him. But it IS something that needs to be learned by the coaching staff.

Not only the staff, but the I'm sure there's something to be learned for Iglesias too.

We want a youth movement without any growing pains.

I haven't agreed with pitcher removal decisions since Sparky Anderson. He had a quick hook, I would too. He also had a good bullpen usually.

Iggy should have come out after five.

I think this is just one of those things we're going to have to live with when you've got a rotation with 3 rookies in it. The coaching staff does need to see how they'll react in specific situations so they can use them as teaching lessons moving forward.

It's a matter of pace. Build him up gradually. Iggy has thrown lot of pitches and not gone deep in games much. I think he lasted three innings last time.

I thought five was enough. He seemed to labor in the fifth.

Push him, fine, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
