Not to diss Cozart's hot 2015 start but boy, that's some tough sledding after the first four batters.

Cozart has a .395 OPS over past two weeks, not the man to drive in new found OBP machine Jay Bruce. Byrd going down is such a killer, lineup already lacked on base, but now gaping hole in mashing. Lots of marginal guys stacked together.

Can't expect Cozart to be an .800 OPS guy at this stage. Hopefully he stays in the .700 range. He's done very well, just can't expect too much, and he will have bad stretches, to be expected.

The most hilarious Reds announcer flub was Grande in one of his cameo appearances a couple years saying that Simon struck a batter out to end the inning "and stranded a rander."

For those not getting this game does Moscot look like he has talent and is just not hitting his spots or does he look like chaff?
Not gonna lie, it's partly the latter, but he just seems very tight. Everything is at the knees and just a bit off. The first inning was rough because after striking out Venable to start, Norris took some good close pitches and worked a 3-2 walk. Then he got ahead of Upton 0-2 who made very weak contact on a ball up the middle that avoided any contact with Moscot and went to CF for a hit. And then he got Kemp to hit a simple groundball between 1st and 2nd but it was past Votto. After that, he REALLY got into his own head and couldn't find the zone.

I know the results won't be there in this game. But, just looking at the stuff of Moscot I could see him one day being a successful back-end type of starter. Looks to have a 91-94 MPH fastball, an 86-82 slider and a mid-80s curve. Nothing really jumps out at you, but with a little better control he could have a decent little career. Also, those were 2 pretty weak singles in the 1st inning, just as easily could've been out of that inning with 0 runs.

I wish this game was on DVR so I could fast forward.

Awful. BP didn't lead Pedro to the bag.

Good to see Villareal continues to carry on the Jason Marquis legacy.

Not that Nate Adcock is great, but if the Reds needed to call up a relief pitcher from Louisville, it definitely should have been Adcock, not Villarreal.

But that 40-man roster though.

That was some kind of catch by Venable

Yeah, that sucked. So, it was in line with everything else that has happened this night. (This season?)

I'm genuinely shocked they haven't put nets up around the dugouts and at least to the beginning of the outfield yet league wide.

Back in 2010 after a rain delay we snuck down to the Reds dugout seats and rookie Heisey swung insanely late and lasered the ball about 8 feet over our head and hit some guy and he had his sun glasses on top of his head and destroyed the glasses about 20 feet away and guy was bleeding good.....young kid who snuck down beside us went back to sit with his parents after that.

I don't mind tremendous plays against us unless they cost us the game.

Villarreal: Bad career minor league numbers, average-at-best stuff, 27 years old. Makes perfect sense why the Reds see something in this guy.

Oh, I hear ya. It was a phenomenal catch.

And that was an even better play by BP for the DP. Wow.

Smoothest play Phillips has made since that crazy play he made on Michael Bourn about 5 years ago.

I can't stand Thom's reaction but that is likely to be the top play in baseball tonight.

I prefer sitting about 20 rows back In the infield box seats, or in the club seats.

At Riverfront I always preferred the green seats.

Long night. Wife fell and apparently broke her hand at the elementary graduation. You know the drill...ER, pain melds, laundry to do, etc. anyway, missed the entire game. It seems like it was a good move for me. Game thread ended abruptly too. Only one question. Why bring up the kid? Did no better than Marquis would have done and we burned a trip up.

I think it has as much to do with parting ways with Marquis as anything else.
