Glad I didn't make any bets with them!

Boo to the rain! My daughter and I are heading to Wrigleyville for dinner and then to the game in a few minutes.

I haven't looked at the forecast just the radar so you may be okay.

Edit: Here is the forecast:

Late Afternoon: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 64. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

You know how in movies the monster/beast is about to pounce on the main character then, suddenly, it stops, looks afraid, and runs off and, before the main character can say "Phew!", you realize that an even bigger, scarier second monster/beast is standing right behind them?

The storm is the first monster and the Reds lineup is the second.

I agree, but I admit I wonder if he might need more time in AAA because it could get ugly at the major league level if his fastball is the only pitch he's consistently throwing for strikes.

I think we're at the point where I'd just let him learn at this level. I like how Price is handling these guys and how he doesn't go get them in the 5th inning right away if they're in trouble. He's teaching them to pitch at the ML level and I think it will benefit the Reds in the near future.

Anyone else feel like Maddon, since the 3r HR in the first is managing this game like the 7th game of the WS? Guess when he thinks he's got a team by the throat, he wants to apply more pressure, not less. Interesting.

You mean like leaving in his terrible starter to give up a HR to a scrub when he had his replacement warmed and ready?

Not really

Better idea to shorten games. Follow the Pena rules. 2 outs per inning.

He lost track of how many outs and was jogging to the dugout. :O)

But on the bright side, we'd get the #3 pick in the draft. There are still the Brewers and Phillies.

1-2-3 go the Reds. I'd suggest we call Louisville for help....but they're having their calls forwarded to the Reds dugout.

No more Phillies this year, but some with Milwaukee.....so the Reds should win a few more.

New Reds draft strategy draft Pitchers who can bat because of playing other positions. The other part of the strategy is drafting position players who can pitch. 22 or so of them on the 25 man roster and the bench and bullpen problem is solved.

Well, the first loss since we started giving out the Star of the Game Award. The Old Lefthander sometimes chose opposing players to get the award in such situations, so with that in mind...

Tonight's "Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game Award" goes to Cubs lefthander (and former Red) Travis Wood, who earns the win in relief.

It's gotten to the point where it's impossible to really blame Price. Even if he's awful and screws everything up, how can you tell a difference when he's working with this roster.

We need Mesoraco to be a legitimate LFer. We need Phillips to come back, keep hitting .300 and stay healthy...and for Billy to keep playing recklessly diving around everywhere without injuring himself. Even then, we're still not that good.

That we're even close to .500 is a mystery to me. This season couldn't be weirder.

Correct, also he might not always been able to get the first choice from the opposing team
