Moscot chased down runner in rundown at second after a come-backer from Cabrera. Instead of throwing it back to the base, he chased him and dove for the runner. He was face-first for a long time in quite a bit of pain. They're speculating LEFT wrist or shoulder.

I couldn't disagree more. Just because one city (or state) wants it so badly that they either have someone design a way to game the online voting, or they organize a massive vote from their fanbase, that should not determine who makes the All Star team and who starts. It makes a mockery of fan voting. If this stands, it could well lead to the end of fan voting again.

Back in 1957 when the Cincinnati Enquirer issued pre-printed ballots with the Red's starters names for fans to clip out and submit, and the team got stacked with Reds, Commissioner Ford Frick removed Reds’ Gus Bell and Wally Post from the starting lineup, and replaced them with Hank Aaron and Willie Mays.

I think the same thing should happen this year (although both Aaron and Mays can be excused). There needs to be something to balance out what has happened in the voting, or the MLB All Star game will become defunct.

Adcock has had a little more success than Partch, plus he was kept on the Royals as a Rule 5 pick for an entire year (although he ended up let go a couple years later and back to one). 12 to 16 weeks to heal, the Reds will have him playing 3rd in 5 weeks is my guess

Are you kidding? He's going to make his next start. It's not his pitching arm that affected. ;)

How can you say that when the Royals have seven players leading in the voting? USA Today pointed out the starting lineup currently leading the All Star voting excludes the top-four hitters, nine of the top 10 home run hitters, and nine of the RBI top 10.

1989 was what I kept thinking about all last year. Didn't think we would have to suffer through 1989 part deux. As I recall though, in 1989 we had A farm system that was loaded.

Votto did that nice bunt down the third base line for a single thing last time. This time, he grounds out into the shift. Shouldn't he keep getting bunt singles until they stop shifting?

It had more to do with having already seen the episode of Catfish that was airing at the time the game started. When there's nothing on basic cable, I heave a sigh and think of the $104 I paid for MLB.TV this year (Ford bless Baseball Prospectus and its subscriber discount).

I hope not - rather have Axelrod, or surprise us with a shock promotion for Somsen or Sampson. Holmberg is horrible. 4.66 era 1.68 WHIP but hey he is the 40 man and you know how you must preserve those spots. I think they fine GMs each time they replace someone on the 40 man.

Forgot about SMith, him too. Anyone over Marquis de Holmberg.

So what happened? He'd had like three or four good years in a row- and his best season ever in 2014. Gregg, Marquis, Boesch, etc. etc. were bad, but this is one signing I would have made too (at the time).

No mention of Bruce's .209? (if we're talkin' BA's) And it wasn't like Byrd was doing much (but an upgrade)

No depth at all in this org, they need to fix that first if they don't want to drop off a cliff for years.

You want a fodder filled lineup? Try Suarez (he will get better), Barnhart, and Boesch. Add in Negron, and only Saurez deserves to be on a MLB team. And yet we get a steady diet of Schumaker to DH because there's nobody else. No offense? No wonder. None of them and Jay hitting above .209.
