He's definitely playing hurt ... and probably doesn't get enough credit for that from Reds' fans IMO. He's always been a guy who is more than willing to play through injuries.

I like his passion and that he is willing to fight through injury. I agree, a 75% phillips is still better than Negron and Skip but I´d rather have Skip for some games and a healthy phillips afterwards though...

the problem with phillips is simple. he has no power, isn´t walking and his 700+ OPS came from his high avg. He was riding a 330 BABIP... that is not sustainable

I don't see "sucky" when I look at that. I see a pretty average rookie start. I'm fine with it. He's kept us in the game. Now lets start swinging the bats please.

I didn't see it. So I can't "admit" anything. But looking at the results in the box score...I'm fine with it. I'm not happy with the 3 walks, but I like his strike/ball ratio and he limited the damage it seems. I'm not sure what you're expecting from a rookie pitcher. They'll have the occasional horrific starts, the occasional gem...but mostly we'll get what we got tonight.
