Fun fact: Josh Smith is the first Josh Smith to play in the big leagues, though everyone's favorite Reds starter Josh Fogg's middle name is Smith.

I smell an extra inning loss. 3-4 or 4-5. Badenhop pitches two perfect innings, next guy walks the lead off runner, gives up a double, then a game-losing single.

You're already counting this game as them "not being competitive"? One out into the bottom of the first?

In no way are the Pirates a mess right now. They just came off an 8-game winning streak right before their current 3-game losing streak. 8-3 over their last 11 ain't bad, sonny.

I should have said 3 games... they were absurdly destroyed over the weekend... Career high 14 hits given up by Burnett on Friday. No hit on Saturday... and they got obliterated on Sunday after giving up 9 runs in the first inning!!! Over their last 3+ games, they have been a mess.

As much as I feel we've wasted numerous opportunities...the Buccos have to feel similarly. 6 walks in 4 innings and still scoreless...that's impressive in a really odd way.

Right. My point is choking up with 2 strikes would help him make contact. It didn't matter this past time, he got the job done, but I'm used to seeing Jay swinging for the fences with 2 strikes instead of just getting a bat on the ball.
