Pirates have given up 16 first inning runs in their last THREE games.

Cole has never beaten the Reds.

Cole has given up 3 earned runs in only 3 starts this year.... all against the Reds

Every guys seems to have a team that he struggles against. I think we found Cole's team.

I haven't been paying any attention to his average, but I didn't think he had really become a sub 700 ops guy

After last year, and April of this year, and just the way he looked at the plate, I was definitely having doubts. He's really turned it around. He's not swinging at crap anymore.

In the past, his OBP was what really held him down. I don't see that now. Now it's his BABIP that's holding him down.

1-2-3 for Leake again. Outside of that 3 game stretch for him, Leake has been really good this season.

His pitch selection has seemingly come a long way. I'll take .850 since he's never hit that so far in his career.

He's gonna need a lot more XBH's if he wants .900 because I think the best we can hope for OBP wise from him is .350-.360

I think he WILL get more XBH's. If he shows pitchers that he's not going to chase those crap pitches...they'll have to pitch to him. And he's proven that he can punish pitches in the zone.

Those 2 dots are the OUTS....not the count.

lol no they aren't. You don't have 3 dots on the scoreboard for the outs. There's no reason to. Look at the Reds scoreboard right now. How many out dots do you see?

So...how come it's still showing "1-1" after his at bat then? Because they're the # of outs. They show the count like 2-2 in the box next to the out dots.

I don't care how bad our bullpen is; when Votto, Frazier, Bruce and Byrd are clicking we have to have the best 2-4 (or 3-5 depending on the night) in the majors. With how Cozart was hitting before his injury, if Hamilton could get on base more, it's an absolutely insane 1-6 to start the game.

Edit: and of course throw Mesoraco in there. Man...I really wish we would have had one season the last couple years not entirely laden with injuries :(
