That wasn't a horrible AB, but it was a bad ending. And I blame him directly for the run after the error, but if you're Disco, you really can't allow the pitcher to burn you for a two out, two RBI hit.

Whaddya know, Angel Hernandez got a call right.

I'm for replay but I'd rather just see it on obvious missed calls like that game a few years ago where Jim Joyce blew a call that cost that pitcher perfect game. I know the Reds have benefited from pretty much all the replay challenges in this series but if it isn't egregious, I'd rather see the call stand. Of course defining egregious is the rub.

In my book, errors don't absolve pitchers of all blame. Yes, I know the inning should be over, but if a guy drops a ball and you proceed to give up a HR to a guy hitting .150, you are still at fault. Hitters pick up the pitcher by scoring runs when the pitcher gives up runs, pitchers can pick up fielders by making a pitch to avoid a big inning after an error.

I agree, but they were both awful plays by Suarez. Routine grounder. Routine throw to 1st. And both should have ended what turned out to be big innings after the fact.

Can't live with that from a major league SS in a big series.

Funny thing, though, Suarez has a good rep defensively BUT here's a blurb from when the Tgers called him up last year"

Baseball Prospectus ranked him as the Tigers organization's ninth-best prospect, with Jason Parks noting a dearth of impact tools but good hands, a strong arm and instincts for shortstop. Alas, he also noted Suarez's tendency to "make fundamental errors,"

What a waste. It's already a waste that he's not a starter. But the Reds don't even use him enough as a reliever.

Sometimes a young kid makes a lot of errors early. Suarez deserves some time.

And I'm not sure why he'd be acceptable at second base making all these errors. Is it good to have a second baseman who flubs ground balls?
