I like variety, too, but not these cavernous parks that feature no area whatsoever for power potential. In the old days, you might see some variety in a place having a "short porch" in LF or RF, but being an graveyard in CF. These places like MIA, SD, WASH are just cavernous everywhere.

Another gripe I have about these kinds of parks.... IMO the bleachers should always be right behind the walls in left and right field so fans can catch home run balls. That was always the fun of sitting in those sections when going to the games, or at least the possibility of catching a HR ball.

Iglesias has to prove IMO that he's a starter. He has the stuff, but does he have the durability.

Today, he should be removed because he's just back from injury. Why push him.

Funny, to me Cingrani is the more natural starter and Iglesias the more natural reliever. Price went the opposite way earlier this season. We'll see how it all works out.

I know there's a lot of angst here today about Price's management, Votto's defense, and the bad bullpen, but I'm going to say something that I think many on here don't want to hear:

Iglesias is not a starting pitcher, at least not right now. He is a long reliever, capable of going 2-3 innings a pop (maybe 4 if he's lucky), but no more. He's got good stuff, but no endurance. Unless he is able to build endurance (at AAA, and not MLB), he'll never be more than what he is now.

But this was his first time back from injury. In fact, it was supposed to be a AAA rehab start until Disco went down.

The jury is out on whether Iggy can start, but today IMO it's on the manager. Not a fair assumption that he could go beyond 4+ innings once he started to give up fifth inning baserunners.

Reds are best off sitting Johnny tomorrow, don't risk the pre-trade injury, and let him throw an inning in the ASG. (Assuming the NL would select him.)

Yeah, but in this case Cueto - as a late replacement - won't get picked for the ASG unless he's available to pitch. So the Reds' choice is realistically between Sunday and the ASG. Either or.

Me, with the game in Cincy, with the Reds out of the race, I'd just as soon see Johnny pitch an inning in the ASG. He can then start, say, Friday.

This is why I didn't understand leaving Cueto off the team. MLB should have put him on the team, and immediately announced him ineligible, and replaced him with someone else. Everyone is happy.

Going into today opponents were hitting .050/.093/.150 off him since coming off the DL on May 27th, but sure, he's terrible at pitching.

He's thrown 13 innings since that date you selectively chose. Despite your best efforts, his stats still bury him. 13 IP since that time and 7 ER.

I chose that date because he was a lot better when he came back, it wasn't being selective. He had a 1.65 ERA coming into today. And yes, his stats are now buried due to this outing today, so congrats?

The original lineup needs to reunite for a tour.

Take my money now.

Unfortunately, it will never happen. Axl has burned too many bridges.

On another note (talking to you, Steven Adler), how bad is it when Axl Rose fires you for visiting Mr. Brownstone too often?

Lenny Harris. Good stuff (if you're getting the Marlins broadcast you know what I am talking about).

I agree.

That's gotta be some major dislike for a person...because they'd make millions on that tour.

AA/AAA caliber pitching will do that.

Today's "Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game" is Marlins CF Cole Gillespie, who had three hits, including a HR and a 2B, and also made a "Willie Mays" catch in CF.

Does anyone remember when Frazier "hit" a 3 run HR to put the Reds up 4-1? Or at least the announcer thought so.

It seems a long time ago.

Probably but you never know, I thought the gals from Veruca Salt would never get back together after breaking up and each releasing an album calling the other the scum of the earth, but they did.

Yea, the offense is about league average. They are tied in RPG with the Cubs and .08 behind the team with the best record in baseball. The offense really is not a problem at all. It is adequate to win, as the Cubs and Cards are proving in spades. Its the pitching, just a poor staff.
