Testing the baseball gods in this one....why not keep winning. Holmberg all the way!

The weather is iffy and could see a 3rd or 4th inning delay for 1 hour and 9 min but then resume and finish right before the next rain at 11:47 pm

Why bat Suarez 7th when he...

A. Is clearly a better hitter than Pena.

and

B. The Cards can pitch around Suarez in a key situation if need be to face the pitcher instead.

Young player, wants to keep him in the comfort zone. I think in the past sometimes when he's moved a kid up, there has been a bit of a slump.

I just hate that the pitcher is batting behind him. A smart team like the Cardinals will pitch around him in key situations.

I'm a critic of Billy's offense, but at this point with 2015 lost I am fine with having him track down everything in centerfield to help the confidence on the young pitchers. But the Reds absolutely have to have a Plan B come Opening Day 2016 for CF besides Billy.

Honestly, if he can be had on the cheap in the offseason I'd have no qualms bringing him back as a free agent. But you can pretty much expect him to not give up a single run in a Cardinals uniform to help propel them to the World Series so he will get another big payday.

That was extremely predictable, because I looked at the numbers earlier today, and Carpenter just DESTROYS the Reds. Not even counting tonight he was hitting .395/.465/ .763 this year against Reds pitching. That's his 4th HR against the Reds, more than he's hit against any other team.

That was extremely predictable, because I looked at the numbers earlier today, and Carpenter just DESTROYS the Reds. Not even counting tonight he was hitting .395/.465/ .763 this year against Reds pitching. That's his 4th HR against the Reds, more than he's hit against any other team.

Yeah...I thought it was a positive that he walked twice and scored once in his first three at-bats. Letting him swing is a bad idea.

Nope. Still at 199.

I remember being at a game at Riverfront vs. the Phillies in 1985. The scoreboard put up a message, "Dave Parker has hit 199 career home runs. His next homer will be his 200th." I turned to my dad and said, "He's going to do it." The next pitch landed in the RF green seats.
