Votto got get back going as CarGo is keeping his crazy run going. Another Hr tonight and has 13 Hr, 29 RBI since July 22nd. Raised Slug% from .448 to .548

And while I know he has never been an on base guy or draw many walks.....on this incredible tear he only has been walked 7x

Depends on the situation. I don't hate him in the leadoff spot with our lack of options this year, but I consider Votto, Frazier, Bruce, Byrd, and Suarez to all be better hitters than him, so I'd like to see them get more at-bats.

If you want him to try, you do.

Easy....you don't like batting 7th, do what Suarez did and force your way out of it.

That being said with Hamilton doing what he's doing, Meso out and Frazier off the chart cold....no way Phillips bats 7th now.

I would go right now

1. Phillips
2. Votto
3. Suarez
4. Byrd
5. Bruce
6. Frazier
7. Catcher
8. Pitcher
9. Billy

If Billy could get even to just .300 I'd lead him off in place of Phillips and Phillips would bat 7th....but he's hit pretty well of late and fairly consistent this season. He's been too good for 7th this year but going into this year I was all for it based on his past years.

Something a bit bizarre but Toronto did it....for no reason bat Frazier lead off....right now it's grasping to get him going

BP was batting .118 and visibly sulking in the field when he was batting 7th in April.
He "forced" his way out of it when Mes went down. He magically began hitting the very day he was moved to clean up.

So bottom of order and guys that don't walk are patient, drive up pitch count and walk and then big boppers swing at everything.

If Frazier swings any earlier on the first pitch it may not count as a strike and might be construed as a warmup swing.

No doubt. But Norris is a more dangerous hitter than Solarte, and you add a base runner with the walk. I know he wasn't trying to walk Solarte, but he and Pena kept going to the inside fastball well despite the fact that it wasn't a strike and wasn't going to be called a strike. Frustrating. But the usual Holmberg escape to end the frame.

Probably a good thing. Last thing we need is the Reds' front office thinking Holmberg should be in the '16 rotation. If he makes the team as a long reliever, so be it. As a starter? That would be an official sign they are punting on the season. And I know he's looked decent with the Reds. But that's an extremely small sample size. He was awful at Louisville. Just like he was last year.

Old ballparks (Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Crosley Field, Polo Grounds, etc.) were asymmetric because they were built on whatever lots of land the club could acquire, and they had to squeeze them in. Whenever it was feasible, MLB clubs preferred to build symmetric stadiums (like Dodger Stadium and all the cookie cutters). I hope they don't bring him to spring training.

I hope they do. He's got a serviceable arm and wouldn't be bad to have for low-leverage situations.
