Since it is Sandy Koufax bobblehead night at Dodger stadium, I was wondering what his lifetime stats are against the Reds in particular, and some other teams a well. Anyone know where to find a team by team breakdown?

Hi 40,
I been a Reds fan for 45 years. I missed seeing Koufax on
TV. He was retired when i started listening in 1970.

I don't think he'll start crap as his team being smack in the middle of a pennant race. If he goes after the Reds he is so selfish.....if the Reds go after him, well we'll see.

But doubtful.

I know it's taboo to say anything critical about Vin Scully , but I'm going to say it anyway. I enjoy listening to him do one game in a series, but then he starts repeating himself. It's almost like he's working off a script. A competent color man would enhance the experience even more.

I remember when Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola were the combo on the NBC Game of the Week, and I thought they worked very well together.

Marty Brennaman, who had worked World Series Games 3 and 4 in Cincinnati while sharing the booth with Garagiola, had tipped off Dick Stockton off that... Last week Thom B. was saying he thought Randy Johnson was
every bit as good as Koufax. I wondering if you had any thoughts on that?

In their prime, Koufax was more the pitcher; Johnson was an intimidator. Pretty hard to say if one was better. With Johnson's lengthy career compared to Koufax's short career, I guess Johnson would get the edge. Koufax had better control. Johnson threw harder. Koufax had an unbelievable 12-6 curveball. Johnson's slider scared people to death. I wouldn't have wanted to face either of them.

Over the course of a full season, Koufax was the most dominant pitcher I have ever seen. Period. Full stop.

He had the best fastball in baseball. He had the best curve ball in baseball.

For a particular game, somebody like Johnson might have been more dominant.

Nobody compares to Sandy, although his prime was obviously short due to injury.

Yes, his "slipping" is still better than the rest. I wish someone with a similar approach was emerging to take after him.

Young pitchers are getting experience. Whether good or bad, in the long run that's a good thing.
Suarez can really hit and he's gonna get a lot of time up here to keep working on his defense.
Phillips has been better than I thought he'd be. A lot better on the bases that's for sure.

And most importantly, even when things have been bad, they've never quit. They show up and compete.
