That's the kind of comment that shoots good karma in the head for a 15-2 beating. Now you have to go outside, spin around 3 times and spit...or curse. I forget which one breaks the curse.

Oh I knew the comment could precede a beat down but for $305 million you would expect a lineup and bench made up of the 27 Yankees and 76 Reds combined with the rotation of the mid 90's Braves. But hey I grew up when $6 million got you a bionic man.

Not to mention it pays homage to Tony LaRussa. There is no real advantage to batting the pitcher 8th. It's just managers trying to out-think themselves. (Or in Price's case, play copycat.)

Development of prospects is a long term proposition.

Shouldn't jump to conclusions.

Iglesias is a near future top of the rotation pitcher IMO. Like 2016 near future.

Desclafani looks to be a solid long-term MLB starter.

Sampson has shown a flash in a small sample. Lorenzen, Smith, and Holmberg are cannon fodder.

I want to take a minute and brag. Today my 19 year old daughter did well enough on her Organic Chem 2 class and later this afternoon got to walk through her white coat ceremony and on Monday will begin Pharmacy School at Marshall University. She will be the youngest student in the entire pharmacy school.

There....had to let it out. That's what it's all about, Ironman. Congrats to you and your daughter

Disagree on Lorenzen. He needs more time is all. To be pitching in the bigs and to have ANY success at all after only pitching as long as he has been is pretty damned amazing IMO and speaks volumes as to his talent level. He needs time and experience...but he's got the goods IMO.

Btw...I turned the game off right after the Agon homer...and we get the 3rd out and then Votto homers. I'm the bad luck charm tonight fellas. No more watching for me and we'll win. :O)

Maybe you're right. His future isn't determined in stone by what we saw of him this year, but I saw nothing from him so far that suggests otherwise. Either threw it out of the K zone, or a center cut meat ball. He's got a lot of competition coming up for a rotation spot too.

Personally, I thought he got rushed up to AAA and definitely to the bigs. I would've kept him at AA all season this year. But I'm probably overly cautious with pitchers.

You would have had him repeat AA after his 120 innings of 3.13 ERA ball in 2014? You're tough, Charles. Don't think he would have taken that very well.

I think the Reds are being overly cautious with pitchers, especially now in a lost year.

It's always said that pitchers are always a pitch away from surgery, so why waste these guys' pitches in the minor leagues? Follow the Cardinal model. You look at their top guys, they hardly spent any time in the minors.
