Lamb gets Lucroy to flail at strike 3, not easy to do.

But Braun swings at the first pitch over the plate and homers. 1-0 Milwaukee.

Very Lamb like inning. Looks great except for one poorly placed pitch. He just needs more consistency.

OnBaseMachine
08-30-2015, 02:31 PM
That changeup to Lucroy was nasty. It's a true plus pitch. He should probably scrap the curveball vs RH batters, though.

Tom Servo

Frazier double, Suarez groundout, and Pena hopper up the middle ties up the game 1-1.

Lamb appears to be a thrower and not a pitcher. Much potential but not ready for prime time.

Lucroy with a jam shot line drive over Frazier's head to drive in the run with 2 outs. 2-1 Milwaukee.

Tom Servo

Out of trouble by getting Braun to flail at the same changeup he got Lucroy to flail at.

I stay patient with Lamb, the talent is there.

The downside of the departed Byrd's influence on Suarez rearing it's head of late, he's swinging a lot and not just the balls he should be swinging at.

Nope, the 2nd one looked like it had double distance but he was held to a single.

Frazier doesn't miss putting the Reds ahead by much after a two out BP double.

Lamb done after a two out hit by Skippy means a PH spot for De Jesus. Guess it makes sense in a one run game, but Lamb sure looked like he could go for a 7th.

Nice pick and throw deep in the hole by the error prone Suarez.

Razor Shines
08-30-2015, 04:05 PM
Well Lamb clearly still has a lot to learn about pitching in the Major Leagues. And he could learn it from Sampson. Lamb need to be more of a leader to the offense and inspire them to score more than one run in 6 innings.

For you guys when Thom tries to talk sabermetrics it's the same for me as when Suarez makes a nice play but credit is given to taking infield balls along with Phillips.

It's idiotic. Ryan Klesko used to take OF flies with Andruw Jones....but it's just moo.

What a ridiculous comment. Sure he should have rolled over on one of those breaking balls outside and moved Bruce to third because a productive out is better than a walk.
