Would that be an improvement on Soto though? I know he was bad, but I'm not sure he reached 0-73 level of bad.

Reds need to watch the innings on Iglesias and on Lorenzen.

I'd probably sit them both down very soon. Maybe now.

Iggy has successfully been converted to a starting pitcher this season. I don't see much to be gained by further outings. Seems ready to go to spring training as a charter member of the rotation.

Hard to say. Iggy is an unusual case. As I recall, he was a reliever in Cuba and didn't pitch nearly at all in 2014.

So he's been lightly used in the past in terms of innings.

He currently has about 120 innings this year, according to a post on RedsZone today.

Seems like enough to me. Then maybe 150 next year.

And yes, he is a good player, and what he does in the rest of the league matters not to me, but against my team he is the enemy and I do not speak well or root for him. It doesn't help that the Pirates are taking over WV here this year with the Reds in this funk. I think Pujols was just too good with the Cards. He never really K'd much. Holliday k's about normal for a power hitter. Gomes doesn't get enough playing time. Fielder was injured a bunch IIRC. I think whoever it is would need longevity. I'd say Holliday (probably because I just don't follow the AL much and am not that familiar with Cruz, Davis & Bautista)

It's not the Reds fault....you are down there at the bottom of WV, not really close to any team. People naturally bandwagon towards the better teams. Steelers country is near and it's not that far fetched they'd like the Pirates.

You need to review some past game threads.

I was actually excited when THom came back to Cincinnati. But as time has worn on, THom's schtick has grown incredibly tiresome. The more he talks (and he talks a LOT), you realize the less he knows, and what he does know is terribly antiquated.

You guys, it's going to be all right. Skip is finally in the game.

First two LF got hurt. Is it wrong to wish three times a charm here?

447 ft....no way. The HR derby balls in that area were 460+ and that was farther than the 2 in that area

That's what J.J. Putz did. He just chose poorly.

There are many ballplayers whom Thom would love to have their children.

Stubby Clapp made the same error.

Big comeback win for the Mets over the Nats.

In a more relevant game, Phils over the Braves.

Did that foul ball not hit the ground first? I think that's what Votto and Price were arguing. Is that not reviewable?

Perhaps, but I'm not sure why that would be.

Apparently the ball did hit the ground, but as Ironman noted, it wasn't a reviewable play. Amazing. Not saying we had a chance, but until the final out is actually made, you do. What a shame.

Just curious, but what exactly happened with Melancon and your son? I've seen you mention it a few times. I'm just wondering what went down.

My son and I were at the HR Derby and AS workout and he (just turned 12) positioned himself down the 1st base line and had been there well over an hour hoping for basically anyone to sign. Melancon came over to a group wearing Pirates gear right beside my son. My son asked for an autograph and he said "I only sign for Pirates fans."....my son quickly replied, "but I always root for you guys against the Cardinals"....no sign. He moved down about 10 more feet and then began signing for everyone???

He now has the career lasting jinx from us. We started it in the ASG and Dozier hit a HR off of him.

dang. That's disappointing. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm hoping you just caught him in a bad mood and that he's not always a grade A jerk. Either way though, I understand why you hate him so much. I hope other Pirates players have treated you and your son better.
