I like the lineup FWIW which is likely not a good sign.

Didn't see the pitch trax but it looked good. Same pitch I thought called a strike to Carpenter. Poor called strike 3 to Duvall.

Cabrera now with more homers on the year than Mesoraco and Pena combined. If I told you that before the start of the year you would have said the Reds would be at least 30 games out, yet here they sit in mid September with the lead and the chance to cut their division deficit to a mere 28.5 games.

I just watched the Pirates score 3 runs with 2 outs with 2 singles from the 7th and 8th hitters in the lineup against MIL. The Reds get Hamilton on 2nd with 0 outs, and can't get him past 3rd with the 2-5 hitters up. Typical Reds.

If Frazier would learn to switch hit, he might be able to reach those pitches from the left side. Gotta look for the upside.

I was a senior in college. Can't believe its been that long.

Finnegan looked good BTW. I can see him being a mainstay out of that bullpen for quite a while.

I feel like this is a perfect scenario to pitch Chapman more than one inning. No idea if the full game will be close enough for Price to use him, so bring him in go shut down the Cards in the 8th and 9th and hope we can score one run in that time.

Molina, the great catcher was up. He nodded to Cabrera as in "nice play" when Cabrera threw out the runner.

I'm not a huge Molina fan, few Reds fans are. But that was a classy thing to do. Catcher to catcher.

While I get no one like a batter making an out on the first pitch, many hitter hit very weill on the first pitch, as it is often the best pitch you might see. Pitchers also understand the desire to get ahead of a batter.

Frazier has a .341 BA and a .622 SL% when he puts the first pitch into play.

After taking a first pitch strike, his OPS is .711.
