#reds lineup:

Bourgeois 8,
Bruce 9,
Votto 3,
Phillips 4,
Frazier 5,
De Jesus Jr. 6,
Duvall 7,
Barnhart 2,
Lamb LHP

Tom Servo

Normally I would approve of Duvall in the lineup, but after what Skippy and Bourgeois did to Lamb in the outfield against Milwaukee (which still pains me), I'd have preferred to see LaMarre in there.

Chapman play around to 18 pitches. Hit a batter and now it's 8-6. Chapman needs to throw strikes instead of playing around. Too many pitches to get people fishing. I feel like this is the fault of Chapman. Instead of throwing strikes and blowing them away, he simply tries to do things that patience hitters won't tolerate. I fear the worst

WVRedsFan
09-16-2015, 01:32 AM
Struck him out and now it's 8-6 going to the ninth. Really Hoover was the problem that inning. Trouble is that guys with great stuff including Hoover and Chapman refuse to throw strikes. Three walks and a run results in that.

Jay Grounds out. Votto up. No hits tonight. Joey goes 0-2 looking. Kelch keep talking about the Dodger game. Who cares? Joey gounds out to second. Two out with Phillips up. Phillips goes 0-2 for the third out. Kelch continues to talk in that monotone about Chapman and Welch just stays quiet. Hurts my ears. Brandon strikes out. 8-6 going into the bottom of the ninth.

WVRedsFan
09-16-2015, 01:51 AM
Chapman allows a double down the line from Pagan. This is a cluster. Tomlinson up. Chapman continues to miss the strike zone. Still no outs. Tomlinson grounds out. One out. Duffy up. Price comes out to talk to Chappy with the trainer. Welch sees Chappy back on the mound in a funny way. They head back to the dugout. Tying run at the plate. Chapman continues to throw only breaking balls. Frazier throws the ball away after saving a hit and the run from second scores so it's 8-7 with a runner now at second.

We go to extras. How many times has this happened? So many. Leave one pitcher or another in too long. Bring in another who can't hold the lead or diminish it, bring in your closer who hasn't pitched in five days and expect him to deliver. It's a cluster and it's been constant for two years night after night. I've really had it. If there are no changes this off season, I have to assume that people are satisfied and I won't have any part of that,

Although it meant nothing, the Reds should have won this easily, but nothing is easy these days. Starting a rookie and bringing in JJ, when he is not suited for being a late inning pitcher--he's keep proving that time after time--almost cost the game. Chapman was rusty which was obvious with him throwing breaking balls, and Frazier's HR winning the game was too much. I'm beat, but someone had to do it. Wish it wasn't me.

For the record, Fay reported that in the 7th inning, the umps looked at both the fan touching the ball, and the play at the plate. They ruled that replay didn't show conclusively that the fan touched the ball, but it did show that he was out at the plate.

Hey it looks like the catcher set up in the same place on both and both pitches missed similarly. Time for a new gameplan.

For the record, Fay reported that in the 7th inning, the umps looked at both the fan touching the ball, and the play at the plate. They ruled that replay didn't show conclusively that the fan touched the ball, but it did show that he was out at the plate.

Yes, that is what the Giants crew reported too, which had them scratching their heads since the guy did touch the ball.

Also once again I must say Krukow and Kuiper are a great to listen to, no rancor or bluster of knowledge delivered with amazed wonderment every minute.

I could only wish the Reds announcers were 1/2 as enjoyable to listen to

They are one of the best duo's out there. I was listening to them too last night, as I usually do when the Reds play the Giants.
