Will score 12+ runs

With Smith pitching, that may be enough... maybe.

Votto two-out double, ho hum.

Tom Servo
09-19-2015, 07:33 PM
2 run double by Domingo Santana with two outs. 2-0 Milwaukee and Smith at 24 pitches and the inning still isn't over. He's falling behind every batter. Gets the third out on pitch 28.

Tom Servo
09-19-2015, 07:44 PM
Frazier and Bruce both K on 3 pitches each, but Suarez works a walk. He's doing that a bit more lately, not too surprising considering how often he gets to 3-2 counts.

Josh Smith leadoff triple(!) in the 3rd

He scores on a groundout by Bourgeois. 2-1 game.

Josh Smith triple

Tom Servo

Skippy singles to left, doing that a bit in the last few games. Where was this the previous 2 years?

Votto! :jump:

Good lord above, I love Joey Votto

Tom Servo

Joey crushed that ball, #28 on the year.

Larry Schuler

Votto looks well rested.

Smith gives the lead back after a leadoff double, an out, a walk, and single.

Tom Servo
09-19-2015, 08:27 PM
Smith gives up a leadoff HR to Logan Schafer in the 4th. 4-3 Brewers.

First team to 10 wins?

Tom Servo
09-19-2015, 08:30 PM
Smith nabs a liner for an out and then gives up an 0-2 base hit to Jungmann.

Not exactly going out on a limb here, but Josh Smith is not very good at all.

What else does Smith have to do to prove he's not good enough to be on the roster?

I think the Reds know it at this point, they just need someone to pitch these innings to end the year.

He's done after 4, Boesch in. I'd have had Smith toss at least another inning, it probably would have gone badly but it's not like that matter too much anymore.

Rather it be him versus putting too many innings on one of our young arms for the rest of this dumpster fire of a year. After the last game, time to clean out his locker.

Tom Servo
09-19-2015, 08:36 PM
Like Skippy, Boesch singles and also hasn't looked like complete garbage the last few games. Could have used that back in April or May.

Cingrani on the bump

Tom Servo
09-19-2015, 08:54 PM
Lind singled after Cingrani had Lind completely fooled on a slider in the dirt, so he throws him a fastball on the next pitch and he lines it for a single to center. That was dumb.

He Ks Khris Davis, but Domingo Santana homers. He is officially a Reds killer. 6-3 Brewers.

Kc61
09-19-2015, 08:56 PM
Cingrani is just not the same pitcher as in his first year.

I don't know about him anymore.

I'd give him a shot in the bullpen next season, but it's just not working for him.

Tom Servo
09-19-2015, 08:58 PM
Santana has already been better than Carlos Gomez for about the last two months and is likely to be better than him moving forward, and Houston may miss the playoffs completely or be forced into the wild card game. That trade could look really bad for Houston.

Brewers TV announcers expressing great admiration for Votto as a hitter.

It's good to hear these non-Reds announcers speak about Votto. Particularly in the Central, I've found. Highly complimentary.

Runners on 1st and 3rd with two out in the bottom 7th, Domingo Santana (with a double, a HR, and 4 RBI today) up. Reds going to their big gun: Burke Badenhop.

Skippy hit a blooper to left and the third baseman and left field were going after it and collided injuring both. amazing that the Reds have two bloops and have it tied

It appeared they were treating Herrera's right leg and/or knee.

When they collided, I think he got "speared" by the cleat into his knee. Hope no structural damage, would suck in a worthless game by 2 bottom dwellers at the pt. in the season.
