The reason I am not confident that the Pirates will win the Wild Card is because of their horrid defense.

Very entertaining battle between Burnett's inside fastballs vs. Votto. Votto grounds out to score the run.

Polanco grounds out and just like that, 2-1.

I'd say that most Pirates fans who truly follow the team feel that Marte is a better defender than McCutchen, and by quite a bit. He certainly has a stronger arm. But, it's McCutchen. How do you move him off of center field?

There comes a point where Hurdle needs to convince McCutchen that it will ease the wear and tear on his body if he moves to LF. The Reds did the same thing with Eric Davis back in the late 80's and early 90's. Davis still saw some action in CF, but he gradually saw more and more time in LF.

Glad to see the first win in 14 games. That is all. So, the Reds front office has decided that another wasted year is okay. You can be confident that I will still be a Reds fan, and follow the team, but I will not spend one penny, nor will I even grieve for the state of the Reds. They made their bed, saw problems and decided to save money rather than make positive changes. Hell with them.
