Solid outing for Tim Melville. 3 innings, 1 earned run (Moreland HR), 1 BB, 3 K.

As the founding and only member of the Tim Melville 2016 fan club, I would like to tell you all that there is plenty of room in the club.

It is fine to be a bit more free form in the game threads. If things get too far off track it will either be redirected or is a sign that the Reds and Mets are playing in September.

Maybe Adelman could have "Extreme Ways" as his warm-up music.

Along with O'Grady and others, this should be the end of the line for Mattheus. Wow!

Could be time for Jocketty to go dumpster-diving for, say, 3-4 relievers.

Hope they move Bruce ASAP. He'll be hitting .150 by Thursday night.

Really, really bad pitching. Lots of fodder in the bullpen. Lots.

Reds pitchers allowed 17 hit last night and 18 today. Last time they allowed 18 hits in a spring training game was 2012. Trouble in River City.

You really think teams will care what his spring training average is?

Mattheus is a non-roster guy, I wouldn't give him a second thought.

I think O'Grady and Cotham are better than one bad outing would indicate.

Boy, a genuine Ervin breakout would be big. He's teased with the tools before, maybe he's finally ready to put it all together.

It took a while to put this together, but Ervin reminds me Gary Redus, although he's a bit shorter. He seems to have a similar skill set.

Our bullpen is going to break records for futility. I hope we keep Cotham, Mattheus, O'Grady and move Dirty to the pen.

Those who said 100 losses was impossible will be eating their words.

These types of comments always confuse me. I understand some loathing that Reds fans have, but you're actively rooting for the bullpen to be bad? To stick it to some guys on the internet?

Also I don't think anybody said 100 loses was impossible, I know I didn't, just that it's not easy to do. There were a lot of pathetic teams last season, and none of them lost 100 games.

You're right, you are confused.

Context is very hard to achieve via this medium. Sarcasm is even more difficult.

I don't want to lose 100 games. I don't want our bullpen to be abysmal.

Let me try this again.

If we don't get rid of some of those bums we're running out there in spring training, our bullpen is going to be historically bad and there is a good chance we could lose a lot more games than most reasonable people believed to be feasible.
