Yorman, Peraza, Reed, and it's on MLB Network? I'm in.

Peraza flew out to center on the first pitch
De Jesus flew out to right
Votto struck out swinging

Cody Reed is throwing 95 mph fastballs and just got Jon Jay looking on an 86 mph slider

Cody Reed is freaking awesome.

Wil Myers is rocking that 1989 Mark Grace look.

Spangenberg grounded out to third. Reed got a little cute with sliders in the dirt that Kemp laid off of and ended up walking him. Myers ground out to SS to end the frame.

1st time I've seen C. Reed throw, impressive.

Tom Servo

Yorman with a nice drive to the gap but Jon Jay can cover some ground and tracks it down.

Cody Reed is freaking awesome.

Yeah. He's right now easily one of the best pitchers on this team. It isn't close.

Tom Servo

1-2-3 frame for Reed.

On the radio side, Mr. Brantley sounds impressed by Mr. Reed.

I'm rooting for some bad yet unerroneous defense to messy up Reed's ERA. We can not allow the front office to have even a whiff of an idea of having him on the Opening Day roster.

Bottom of the third: Reed allows his first hit - a leadoff single. Pitcher sacrifices him to second. Back-to-back called third strikes end the threat.

Votto is pretty good.

And that ball is Votto here. Two-run jack.

Tom Servo

Reed gives the runs back. Single by Kemp and a long HR by Wil Myers.

Tom Servo

FWIW, Reed now working around 91 with the fastball according to FSN. Maybe over-exerting himself a little early on?

Single. Homer. Walk. Eek. Rough start to the fourth for Cody Reed.

And now a double and advance to third on the throw.

He was definitely flatter and slower that inning. Probably ran out of gas.

He's pulled for Somsen after about 60 pitches. No question he's got serious stuff, however.

Tom Servo

Somsen in. He's from Yankton, SD, which I know about now from watching Deadwood.

Walk, RBI single, HBP. Al Swearengen would like a word with Mr. Somsen.

I'm getting the feeling that we will see a lot of innings like this one over the next 6 months. :/

Yeah. I would hope this performance by Reed. And Samson too quells any talk of OD roster. Pitching has been horrible this spring. Bad horrible. Now and still two out. These youngsters are not ready for prime time.

Through five innings, the Reds have scored four runs on one hit. Efficient.

Baseball needs another Mark Fidrych.

I'm not sure you can teach that. I saw him pitching for Pawtucket on the way down, and he was still talking to the ball.

btw, I'd like to compliment whoever decided to use Screaming Jay Hawkins "Little Demon" in a smartwatch (or whatever) ad.

BTW, for whatever reason MLB uploaded this entire game (and several other ST games from yesterday) to it's Youtube page if you want to watch any of it

^ Thanks for posting that. This is Enberg's last year as he is retiring from broadcasting completely. It will be good to catch him whenever I can.

Re: Kung fu ponytail

Sweet fancy Moses. I was hoping that was librarian glasses safety ring, not Padawan in training.

Oh the humanity.
