Peraza flew out to semi-deep center.
Cave flew out even deeper to center.
Votto struck out looking after unsuccessfully trying to bunt against the shift the first two pitches.

Quick scoreless 1st frame for Big Pasta.

Wonder how many innings Simon can go now. Think 5 is possible?

Two quick innings so far, looking pretty effortless. I think he could go five.

Noodles Hahn to Noodles Simon. Anything is Pasta-ble.

Jose Havoc makes Utley throw wide to first to score the Reds first run.

He's faster than I had imagined him to be. Su-Peraza!

Walk haunts Simon. Two out blooper from Crawford to center scores a run to tie it at 1-1. Barnhart guns down Crawford trying to steal 2nd to end the frame.

Quick 4th inning for Simon, though the defense helped on some hard hit grounders.

Simon's day done with two outs and a runner on 2nd in the 5th at 70 pitches.

Simon looked better than I imagined he would. He could be pretty useful while the staff's shaking out.

Joey taking some weird meditation pauses between pitches, apparently it works because he singles to center.

Reds busting this inning open. 3 run double from Schebler, De Jesus RBI single, and RBI double from Barnhart.

Crawford looked weird going after that one. End result: Tucker has a double to go with his single and walk, Reds are up 6-1, with the big hit being a bases-loaded double by Schebler.

Nice to see a late spring heat-up from Schebler even if its against a pitcher who obviously doesn't have it.

O'Grady hits a guy with a pitch and then tosses a pickoff throw into the outfield to let him go to third. I think he's going to wind up back with the Angels.

I haven't got to watch much this spring; is Duran thinner? I guess there would be obvious reasons for that.

Ohlendorf in and he strikes out his first batter on 3 pitches.

Ohlendorf getting a taste of Reds of what it's like being in the Reds bullpen this spring in his first appearance. Seeing eye single, balk (which I didn't see at all), and a little flare fisted out to right puts LA in business. Sac fly to right scores a run.

Ohlendorf threw the ball well despite the little dinks, 15 pitches. Wonder if he'll get another inning to stretch out or if they're taking it slow.

In Cincinnati, that would be considered blasphemy. There is only one 'Big O'.

Joey Votto, asked by catcher A.J. Ellis why he was leaning on his bat after every pitch, said: "I'm thinking."
