Former Buckeyes DE Will Smith murdered

Absolutely gut-wrenching news. He was the anchor on that 2002 Ohio State defensive line, and was the heart and soul of the 2009 Saints defense that won the Super Bowl. Shot and killed over a fender bender. What a senseless tragedy.

I was a senior in high school when the 2002 Buckeyes won the national title, and one of my good buddies wrote for his high school paper, and Will Smith granted him an interview after the title game. He was soft-spoken, humble, and kind. RIP big fella, you'll be missed :cry:

This case is going to be interesting. It's clear from the article on ESPN that the shooter is going to claim Smith was drunk, threatening him and had a weapon of his own. It's apparently only a coincidence, but Smith apparently was coming from a dinner that included an ex-cop who was sued by Smith's killer for his role in the police shooting and killing his dad.
