At this point I would rather see the pitchers throw the ball underhanded to get the ball over the plate and give up 15 solo home runs compared to this.

Tom Servo

Scoreless first for Finnegan, two walks though to one strikeout.

Raisor

Finnegan walks a couple of the evil ones but gets out of the inning without giving up a run.

Lets call it a victory.

RedlegJake

Good thing is I don't believe they'll hit Finney if he gets it over the plate. Bad thing is he's heading for 5 innings then it'll be back to the pen

Growing pains for sure, but I'm also going back to why Finnegan had to throw another 25-30 pitches in his last start. Stuff doesn't look as sharp today.

Getting more annoyed the more I think about this. What a smart man that Bryan Price is.

Tom Servo
04-16-2016, 02:55 PM
Finnegan's previous career high in pitches was 88. Let's have him throw 111! Nothing could go wrong when his next matchup is one of the most patient teams in baseball currently in the midst of their own personal HR Derby.

Getting more annoyed the more I think about this. What a smart man that Bryan Price is.

I think Price is in a tricky situation. He has to figure this is his last chance to win some games and prove himself a capable manager. Knowing what he has in his bullpen I'm afraid he's going to stick with good young starters longer than may be wise. So what's the answer? An improved bullpen would be the ideal answer obviously.

Raisor

Votto double-matic.

His name is Joe.

I'm starting to believe the "magic" that made Bryan Price a "guru" in hindsight is that he just happened to join the club at the same time the team was starting to call up its most talented young pitchers. And they had all already been developed in the minors, I think maybe it's possible the most he did was just stay out of the way.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cingrani is due up 4th this inning. If the Reds go down in order, do you send him back out for the 9th inning?

If his turn actually comes to bat, do you pinch-hit, or do you let him hit for himself?

I think Moscot could slot in a BOR arm, but I don't think he's there yet. He's only made 10 starts in AAA, and the results haven't been great. Not horrible either, but I don't think he's ready to fulfill his MLB innings eating potential right now without getting knocked around.

I expect him to get hit, I am fine with that get him more reps in the bigs. Look at how much the bigs helped lorenzan, and he was kind of in same boat. We sent him back to Louisville and he pitched a 9 inning shut out.

Let him pitch, let him learn. He at least pitches around the knees, that is a huge skill which is why I fell so in Love with him.

My only concern about Moscot is health. I hope they aren't rushing him back.

I think he has ample minor league experience, in 2014 he pitched 166 innings. Last year he was in the bigs when he got injured.

He's a solid pitcher with excellent control. He's not a huge K rate guy so he's a tough sell to some.

But I think he can be a major league pitcher and I'm glad he's getting the start tomorrow.
