BP hit himself with pitches the other night.
I think we have hit them twice, no response.

Did Nicasio throw 96-97 when he was a starter with the Rockies? Wow.

Tom Servo

I think Votto is breaking out of the slump, the next step is extra base hits.

tomnuetten

Cozart looked like the old Cozart and Votto like the old Votto in the first inning ;)

Schebler playing the long game to get to the .850 OPS that TRF was telling us about. ;)

If part of the plan is getting an .850 OPS in Louisville, it's starting to work.

Tom Servo

Straily suddenly gets into trouble with no outs in the 2nd, an 0-2 pool cue single by Marte and now a walk to Cervelli.

But he gets Polanco to weakly ground into a Yesiree DP!

Straily K's Harrison and made him look silly. Two scoreless.

Bloop single, sac bunt, walk, strikeout, bloop single. 1-0 Bucs.

I really think Straily could be a solid starter if he could shave the BB/9 a bit down.

Did you SEE the way he pulled himself up by the boot straps after that strikeout in his first at-bat, then made an OUTSTANDING defensive play, and THEN followed that up with a homerun his next time up? I mean, the guy is flat-out UNBELIEVABLE! Gracious.

Reds have had three or four high scoring games this year. Otherwise, the offense has been quite poor.

Since April 21, the Reds have scored, 0, 1, 13, 0, 3, 3, 2. Then 0 tonight so far.

All losses except the 13 game. And tonight isn't over.

I don't know where Pacheco will play. He plays several positions.

Hamilton's at bat was disappointing. Seemed obvious that he was hoping to walk there. Not a big league approach. You accept a walk, gladly, but you have to be prepared to swing the bat.

Really, I think the rebuild is better than I thought. Without Disco, Homer, and others, the team has won 9 games--more than I thought, and I wouldn't be surprised if they lost the next six, but it still is brutal. The continuing play of Schebler mystifies me. He needs more time in the minors. I feel like Billy Hamilton is a lost cause unless he's on the team to run the bases or as a late-game defensive replacement and it's time to make him that specialist. Despite the manager's belief that JJ Hoover is a tremendous talent, he's not. Limiting the playing time of Cozart (after tonight's performance, maybe not), should not be limited and the same goes for Rocco. That's just my opinion of course, but Mes will never get his groove playing two games and sitting out. I predicted the Reds to win 61 and lose 101. I think that's still realistic, and won't improve much as the season goes along. Yes, it's depressing, and for an old guy, painful.

I thought Straily looked quite good. Potentially a very underrated pickup there, as he could help in a variety of ways and is still in his 20s.
