Pacheco is Votto's non-union Mexican equivalent.

I asked the question in the thread I started, but this seems to have over-taken it :p

Is there reason for concern for Votto to be missing? He was in the scheduled line-up yesterday, but isn't in today's. Hopefully I'm reading into it and they just wanted to get him two days rest.

I would have preferred Duvall at 1B and Holt in LF, but I guess Pacheco needs some AB's to keep sharp too.

22 K to 10 BB right now, I wouldn't be too concerned. He's a little streaky like all players.

Suarez had only a 4.3% walk rate last year. It's better this year but now seems to be swinging away again. This is my principal concern with him. Swinging at everything.

If his walk rate gets down in that 4-5% area, I'm officially concerned. At this stage, I'm unofficially concerned.

A summary of Clint Hurdle's night to date in the Queen City...

* His batter hit by unintentional pitch with runners on base. Only a fool would think it was done with intent.
* At any rate, the fool orders the Reds' first hitter the next inning to be hit by the pitch. Bruce follows it with a 2-run HR. A free run! Thank you very much.
* Whines from dugout after inside pitch the next inning. You don't even have to plunk a guy to piss him off.
* Whines on tag-up play at third. Challenges. Is denied by replay.
* His man tries to steal second after being hit in the hands with a pitch. Called safe, but Reds challenge. Replay shows he's out.
* Head Crybaby disputes the challenge (something you're not allowed to do) and is ejected.

Thanks for coming tonight, Clint. It's been entertaining.

Now, that right there was funny! Good stuff.
