Nola is a good reminder that a college starter who throws strikes might not be as sexy as a high schooler throwing 97 mph, but the payoff can still be much higher. Too early for that isn't it....and Ondrusek was good early on

LO was the worst location pitcher I've ever seen in the Reds pen. Had some nasty stuff that carried him thru some seasons/situations, but completely clueless about how to locate it.

The stadiums should devise a setup of cameras to thoroughly cover the outfield wall and bases. If the calls are going to rely so much on the camera angles, the system should be designed to do the job.

He's looked alright. Single in his first at-bat, should have had a walk in his second at-bat if not for the umpire. Groundout and strikeout in his last two PAs.

All the cameras are network cameras tho right? Unless the MLB comes in and totally installs their own in every stadium just for replay purposes, and the networks kept using their own just for the broadcast.

Seems like a lot and I'd rather do away with replay, but hey any way to improve works for me.

But first I would eliminate instant replay in MLB (and the NFL as well).

Then replay is meaningless if we're playing "guess where it lands." WTH is the point? The guy touched it (clearly) in play. Shouldn't matter where it *may* have wound up. He touched a live ball in play. There's no questioning that.

Honestly I'm fine with the human element in umpiring/referring in sports.

Having watched the NFL and MLB before and after replay, I can confirm that I got just as mad about bad calls as I have gotten about replays that still end in a bad call.

Lets keep the game moving please.

btw, NBA is the absolute worst cuz all their stuff is happening in the final 2 mins when the pressure and intensity is at its peak.

Same here. The cost we've paid in delays and calls that were STILL blown after replay aren't worth it. Let the umpires/officials do their thing and the chips fall where they may.

That was a great throw and catch. If we're gonna lose on a guy getting thrown out at home, I'm fine losing on a play like that. LF made a perfect throw and kudos to that catcher for holding on, Suarez drilled him.

I'm glad it wasn't ruled blocking for a lot of reasons, but mainly because the game ended on a play worthy of ending a game. Had that been overturned on some technicality it'd have felt dirty.

Phillies broadcast says the catcher had to go in front of the plate to catch the ball, horse puckey. I saw at least one angle where he had one foot in front of the plate well before the ball gets there. That's blocking the plate and Suarez should have been called safe by rule...

... But honestly the rule is stupid. I hate the Posey rule ... If Suarez gets popped for this it's ridiculous... I think NY didn't want a Philly riot and the umps had dinner plans.

Duvall with two doubles too, I think he can open some eyes with his power this season.I agree, but what concerns me is there is so fodder here. Maybe that's the price of rebuilding, but I don't see the talent in the pitching staff, as well as the hitters like we saw tonight in Philly and at Houston last year. I'm probably impatient and pessimistic, but I'm really confused about where this team is going.
