Oh, and then remember the time Eagles fans cheered the sight of a motionless Michael Irvin when he suffered a career ending neck injury?

And don't forget this tasty morsel:

I would send him back to Louisville when Billy Hamilton returns.

Maybe I am harsh, but why do the Reds continue to use players that obviously are not going to help the team move forward.

I actually did not know that, though I kind of assumed due to the various pot shots. I guess congrats on finally having it pay off this year.
You should worry that's going to become a trend. I'm a Reds fan. Not that it matters this year or the next.

I actually thought this guy should have been up 2 years ago or so when he had good numbers in Double A. Good grief I am a terrible scout.

LOL another very near grand slam. You gotta blame Price here. If he's the pitching guru everyone claims he is, why put H in the game? Oh well, I'll catch heck for that,

The Operator

No worries. This was just Price's way of creating a save situation for our shutdown closer Cingrani.

Peraza didn't stay in the game after the pinch hit, did he? (sorry; I'm not paying that much attention). He looks like he could pitch.

I would send him back to Louisville when Billy Hamilton returns.

I think you will get your wish, even though the Reds recent MO is sending the replacement player back down. Besides plenty off mop-up level relievers on the roster.

I'm not a fan of Price, but it's a six run lead and the guy IS in the bullpen. If he can't get three outs here, he doesn't belong on the team.

You know how little kids don't know where babies come from? The Reds don't know where relief pitchers come from. Someone needs to sit them down and tell them the facts of life. Hint: you don't find them under cabbage leaves.

There has to be a better choice in the farm system.

There's always Hoover.

Putting in Cingrani in a bases loaded situation does not strike me as the best of ideas.

Maybe I am harsh, but why do the Reds continue to use players that obviously are not going to help the team move forward.

Price has an odd philosophy that certain pitchers in the bullpen only pitch in winning or competitive games, and other pitchers only pitch in losing or mop-up games.

I would prefer that they carry fewer pitchers, but quality arms who could pitch in either situation.

I agree but with these starters you need almost a 15 man bullpen.

I also would prefer no more Price after this year as well.

This bullpen always tries to snatch defeat from victory. Just unnecessary.

The Reds have been looking in Louisville. At this point I think suggesting that they DO look under cabbage leaves might be appropriate.

Bryan Price said Straily was pitching with a small blood blister on his finger.I got those all the time in high school. They are so painful.

I even had one burst on me one time and the ump came out and said "Son, why is this baseball covered in blood?".

If Chuck Noll was a baseball manager in his day, he would have called Hayes into the office and informed him "It's time to get on with your life's work, son."

Actually it was Paul Brown who started that saying. Here Noll acknowledges hearing it from Brown first:

He jumped at it. “I think Paul felt I was trying to jump leagues and go there as a player,” Noll says. “He’d always stressed the idea of pro football being an interim between college and the rest of your life. He used to call it: `Getting into your life’s work.’
