Glad that Peraza is playing if he's going to be up here for the time being. Don't get why you move Suarez out of the #2 hole with the way he's been swinging it the last few days.

That was my question but it appears the two options for the second spot are Hamilton and Suarez. They both have swung well in the 2 spot but Hamilton appears to be the less sure of a thing and therefore keep him at 2 to not mess with his vibe, Suarez can likely hash it better.

Other option would be to go Hamilton 1, Suarez 2 and drop Mr. Cozart and his OBP=BA to the 6 spot.

They had a chance to play him at SS when they rested Cozart. They started De Jesus. But they had no problem playing him in CF, which he has little experience, and now at 2B. If they thought he could handle it, they would have given him a chance to play it.

Who is arguing anything about his defense? We have a thread in the ORG about that. All we are talking about is the throw. It was fine. It wasn't perfect, but it was playable, and Barnhart couldn't find the handle. It doesn't really matter when the pitcher is giving up uncatchable ROCKETS to the outfield every damn hitter in the lineup.

No, it wasn't fine. It was bad. A 2-hopper that gives the catcher almost no chance of catching the ball is not a good throw. A good RF throws that ball on the fly or with one hop max. Not a fine throw. Just a bad one. Especially for an MLB RF.

Let's just agree to disagree on this one. Or we can keep disagreeing. Whichever.

I'll be honest, I've been a mild defender of Bryan Price. I know at some point he's got to leave a guy in because the bullpen is extremely overtaxed...but this almost looks like forfeiting a game IMO.

The only thing that matters is the future-oriented players.

If Peraza looks unready in the field, that matters.

Whether Simon or Delabar can pitch anymore is just not important.

Unfortunately -- for a rebuilding team -- Reds have precious few future-oriented-players on the roster. Due to injury and the need for more seasoning. Once more of them come back or up to the club, it will be more interesting.

Anyone can get crazy Rick Ankiel wild and miss the barn from 5 feet away but this was a full count each time! That takes some skill and luck! Now after the previous 3 batters walked with the bases loaded, Chisenhall swung at the first pitch. Unless it was cleared from the bench they should have benched him on the spot.

I looked things up on mlb.com. What is truly impressive is that all 4 walks came with a full count!

You should've seen Tucker. He was all over the place diving for balls. Nobody had any idea where the ball was going to go.

I didn't realize this. The 5th walk.

Here's what I hope: I hope the players in the draft next year are better than the pickings this year.

I also hope the Braves get better.

Even if the Braves get better, the Reds won't "pass" them. By the break the Reds will get Bailey, Desclafani, Iglesias back and Reed will be up. Lorenzen, Adelman or Finnegan will be in the pen. The Reds will go .500 after the break.
